London Love

Thanks loads for the fantastic response to my Watching Willow Watts Party! I'm thrilled so many of you have signed up to come have a ball. Yay!

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard about the London riots. Horrific pictures and tales have been streaming in from across the city. Monday night -- the height of the violence -- was my and Mr TR's second anniversary. I've harped on about our London love story so I won't wax poetic here, but needless to say this city played an integral role in our relationship. As we headed out to the theatre and dinner on Monday, we had no idea of the violence that was about to erupt, just ten minutes away from where we live.

I don't want to talk about any of the horrible things that happened in the city. I do want to show you some fantastic images of London on our wedding night. So... here's to London and love!

The National Theatre, all lit up.

London Bridge, done up in pink.

The City, London's financial heart.

The Millennium Bridge.

London Eye.

London Eye, from the river.

  2. What beautiful shots of London - and you two, of course! I fail to understand why what's going on over there is going on, but the pictures on the news are horrific. Stay calm. Drink tea. Rejoice in each other. Happy anniversary!

  13. Congratulations! Not just on your wedding, but on your insistence to take your life in your hands not handing it over to the darkness and fire all around you.

I was very concerned for you when I read of the London riots. The worst darkness and fire are hidden in the human heart. Stay safe.

I loved the photos of London. Roland

  16. lovely...of course it is hard when the place you love is in turmoil but please have faith that there are some good and valid reasons for the upset. The more we stay open in such times, the faster we can get to the healing.
much love to you, your sweet patootie and your friends and neighbours.

  18. Congrats on your wedding anniversary, London has some wonderful sights and was always a visitor especially as a child as I was born on ly 20 mins away on the train, a place called RedHill Surrey. Here's to the next anniversary.

  20. My daughter works on the Birmingham city centre street where all the shops have been smashed up and looted. She spent yesterday shut in the building and they were all sent home early to make sure they got back safely. I was worried about her all day, so it is good to see some positive pictures of London when so many pictures are so sad.
I hope your anniversary was happy despite the mayhem being so near to you. Thanks for sharing it with us :-)

  34. Talli, it is such a joy to visit your site and I wish you a very Happy Anniversary. Your pictures are beautiful!!(as are you). I am saddened by what is happening in your lovely part of the world and so hope that it dissipates quickly! As Elspeth said above, stay calm. Remember to move forward with thoughts that this too shall pass and the city you love will be even stronger. History shows us the strength of the UK and within it I admire its uplifting spirit through any adversity... happy thoughts to you from the American South.
