Happy Monday! Can you believe the sky is blue here? Again! It's like the tropics or something. My big weekend news (if you haven't already seen it on Facebook): I saw two really cute owls sleeping in a tree in Kensington Gardens. This has made me inordinately excited -- and worried about my mental state. I really need to get out more! But they were so cute!
On to more exciting things -- Jessica Bells' trailer for her upcoming novel, String Bridge.
To help promote it, Jessica's running a fantastic (and simple!) contest. All you need to do is link to her trailer then head to her blog and leave a comment with where you've linked to! It's just that easy, folks. (I feel like I'm writing a car commercial here. )
In other exciting news, the A-Z Challenge has reached 700 people! It's going to be EPIC. Maybe even more exciting than owls!
What animal excites you? (Ahem. In the purest way possible, of course.)
Thanks Talli! :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about String Bridge and love the trailer!
ReplyDeleteSometimes we have an owl staying in one of the trees across the street from our house. I love to hear it at night.
A couple weeks ago I saw an eagle! That was a lovely sight. It was soaring above the bridge in my town.
Have a fantastic week, Talli!
My dog playing with the other dogs in the front on a sunny morning, the clothes drying and writing targets getting hit!
ReplyDeleteVery stylish Trailer!
Aww, those owls sound so cute.
ReplyDeleteZebras are my favorite, of course!
Yay for Jessica!!!
Well, we'd been having lovely weather here too...but this morning I woke up to several inches of *gasp* - SNOW! I'm sitting at my computer now in denial.
ReplyDeleteI saw the cutest picture of a bat over at Al's Publish or Perish blog today. Never thought I'd say a bat is adorable, but that one was! And congrats to Jessica!
ReplyDeleteNice trailer!
ReplyDeleteI get excited by all animals but the coolest I’ve seen was a red fox in a cemetery and a pack of coyotes crossing the road.
I just watched this trailer on another blog. It is amazing! So excited for String Bridge to come out!
ReplyDeleteThat trailer is wonderful. What a beautiful song.
ReplyDeleteSend some of those blue skies here. It is pouring rain and will be all week.
I get excited over lions. They are so mysterious and majestic.
Smiles.
Her trailer is so beautiful. I'm impressed by her diversity of talents.
ReplyDeleteAnimals that excite me? Ha. Squirrels. They're carefree, hyper, and silly, and dangit if their tails aren't flippy bottle-brushes of cuteness!
Saw Jessica's trailer earlier - too cool. And now on to 1000 for the Challenge.
ReplyDeleteI loved the song Jessica chose for the trailer. I didn't see any mention on the trailer of the identity of the artist singing it. Very nicely done trailer.
ReplyDeleteI love animals. Let's see...Watching my herd of horses running together across the pasture. There's just something majestic about seeing them thundering across the fields, manes and tails flying.
I dunno, owls are pretty exciting.
ReplyDeleteSia, the song is original. My mother's actually, which I tweaked lyrics to fit the book and rerecorded with my own voice :o) I'm glad you like it!
ReplyDeleteI watched Jessica's trailer on another blog. It's great. A writer with a beautiful voice, too. I don't know which animal I'd pick. Too many to choose from - big cats, horses, colorful birds, and more.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip about the contest....
ReplyDeleteGreat trailer, too!
Don't worry about looking at owls Talli I love squirrels. I didn't know A to Z has reached 700
ReplyDeletenow that is something.
Yvonne.
Jessica is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a unicorn. LOL! The animals that make me freak the most are white rhinos because there are only 5 (??) left right now in the entire world. Hard to think someday they will be gone.
ReplyDeleteI live in grizzly bear country and every year I hear stories of these powerful creatures attacking hikers. Nevertheless I go hiking as often as I can always keeping the thought of running into one of them in the forefront of my mind. Maybe that's what makes hiking in Glacier National Forest so exhilerating for me. I haven't ever met one in person. I would love to see one...from a distance. So, for me, grizzlies are exciting animals.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't Jessica have a gorgeous voice?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's over 700! I don't blame you for being excited about two cute owlies sleeping. Bunnies are what do it for me, so you can imagine I'm in an absolute cuteness frenzy w/ Easter coming up.
ReplyDeleteYay for Jessica! She is the best. This trailer is amazing!
ReplyDeleteyay for Jessica!!! LOVE her voice~ <3
ReplyDeleteIt's an awesome contest and an awesome video!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the trailer, Talli. How fun to see the cute owls! Animals excite me in a good way. My children's book is Animal Sound Mix-up, and I love sharing it with kids and the excitement about animals!
ReplyDeleteYay for Jessica! Awesome video.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Jessica!
ReplyDeleteI love baby giraffes....
Congrats to Jessica!
ReplyDeleteEagles, of course. ;)
Congrats, Jessica!
ReplyDeleteOwls are adorable! I love horses. ;)
Hi Talli .. great news re the owls in Kensington Gardens .. they did say London is a great wildlife area! So it obviously is.
ReplyDeleteJessica's trailer is great for her book - beautiful song and lyrics and so brilliant she's using her mother's idea .. talk about keeping it in the family and keeping those memories going ..
700-800- who knows where .. too amazing .. cheers Hilary

ReplyDeleteCongrats to Jessica!
ReplyDeleteI think black panthers are beautiful:).
I've heard owls at night but I've never ever seen one. I'd love to have seen those two cute owls. My favourite animals of the moment are my two new cats, Mabel and Charlie, but I go 'aaaah!' at anything furry!
ReplyDeleteCute owls?!?!?! You saw cute owls?!?! I live in the county (oh ok on the edges of said country) and I have never ever seen cute owls. Heard the little blighters but seen them cute?!?! JAMAIS!!!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteOf course animals excite me in the most Catholic of senses!! ;-)

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Jessica on her great new trailer!

ReplyDeleteLove Jessica's trailer :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a big animal fan - I'd get excited about the owls too. I love seeing foxes & moose on the side of the road. I love wolves, but haven't been lucky enough to see any in the wild
Can I say the "man" animal?!
ReplyDeleteAll the best for your A-Z challenge!
Very cool trailer :) Thanks for sharing. As far as animals, I gotta say a bear. I like mine strong, scruffy and manly ;)

Owls? How cute! My fave animal to spot is buffalo. They seem like they belong in another time, somehow.
ReplyDeleteI was so excited to see Jess' trailer this morning! YAY for Jess!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe A-Z has hit 700, that is unfreakingbelievable.
Congrats to Jessica! She's so talented, it blows me away.
ReplyDeleteThe Challenge will be amazing, won't it?
ReplyDeleteExcited for Jessica. It's fun to see her trailer. :)
Giraffes are my favorite animals by far. And I just posted a link for Jessica's trailer on Twitter. Always ready to do my part to help other bloggers!
ReplyDeleteGreat trailer! I'll be posting my link tomorrow. Love to support fellow writers any way I can. As for animals, I think that cheetahs excite me the most. They're so fast and graceful.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love owls, too. I'm going to check out that trailer now!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a special treat to see owls because they aren't your usual daytime critter and they are good at blending in. We have a pair on campus here that I glimpse occasionally but usually only hear.
ReplyDeleteI love to see foxes! I love how they sort of float over the ground, like their tails given them buoyancy.
Owls are signs of wisdom so it's helpful that you saw them.
ReplyDeleteI love all animals but seeing squirrels seems to help brighten my day!
Wow...She has a great voice. If her book is as good as her trailer she should have no problems. Too bad November is so far away. I like instant gratification and would love a copy of the ebook tonight.
ReplyDeletethis is so cool Jess must be super psyched.
ReplyDeleteI'm a non-discriminating animal lover, but I have to say I find cats of any species the most beautiful - kitty cats, bobcats, lynx, panthers, lions, tigers - all of them. I'm looking forward to visiting your blog during April. Excited!
ReplyDeleteI'll be tame--just now, my dog's at the top of my list. He's fast asleep with all four paws in the air, and every so often the front two scrabble a little. I'm pretty sure his current dream involves reliving the digging of the giant hole that currently graces my front yard... but he's too cute!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear that you had such a wonderful rest. I hope that the effect of your break and the springtime will bring you inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOwls and epic challenges, love it! Great trailer by the way!
ReplyDeleteJust a quick note to say hello as your newest follower and A-Z challenger. Looking forward to coming back, reading more and getting to know you.
ReplyDeleteJessica's trailer is stunning.
ReplyDelete700? That is epic. I still have Q, U, V and W to upload.
Hi! Owls excite me- I love them because they are so very cute. Also, I'm a bookworm and owls are
ReplyDeletealways associated with us.
I saw this just the other day. Loved it. And hey, I'd be diggin me some owls too. Not something you see everyday. I bet most people wouldn't have ever noticed them. We're special people.
ReplyDeleteYay for owls! I've always been fascinated by them and now they're all over pop-culture and satisfy my cravings for cute owl-y things :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you got excited to see the owls sleeping. It shows that you see beauty all around you.
ReplyDeleteI would have been really excited too. Owls are totally cute!
Jai
Love the trailer!!! Can't wait to read this book! Owls are awesome. I would have been excited to see them too! :)

Honestly, did not appreciate birds until I hit my thirties. :) Owls are EXCITING and so are hawks. Last spring we had a Cooper's Hawk nest in the tree just off from our kitchen and we took hundreds of pictures of him diving after prey. The only other animal that fills me with wonder are large sea animals--whales, sea turtles, etc.

ReplyDeleteOtters! they definitely excite me and make me smile. That could be why me and my beau call each other otters...haha i no dorky but hey it makes me smile so i figure it's ok
