Happy weekend! It's a Bank Holiday weekend here, thanks to May Day, so of course it's rainy and dark. To brighten things up, I thought I'd give you all a little tour around my neighbourhood. I've lived here for six years and I love it so much!
The Orangery at nearby Kensington Palace.
One of the many antique shops on our street.
Blossoms on the trees in the terraces behind us.
Wow you live in a beautiful area!
ReplyDeleteI know; I love it! I've been here for quite awhile yet I still love to wander through the streets...
ReplyDeleteOh. {Jealous} I'd love to live somewhere like that. You are lucky to live in such a beautiful area. :D
ReplyDeleteOooh, lovely. It is a great area. I used to live in Notting Hill Gate (before it go so trendy) and I worked in Knightsbridge. I loved to walk home through the park after work. (In my memory, it was always sunny.)
ReplyDeleteYou live here???
ReplyDelete:-)
I'm thinking you are so wossername from Girl's Aloud! LOL!!!!
Awwwwww it's lovely!!!
I've always wondered who lived in these grand ol victorian houses kept impossibly white by some miracle!
Now I know! LOL!
As it is bank holiday weekend I am being very optimistic and am continuing to air my pedicured toesies and repeating to myself "it won't rain, it won't rain, it won't rain, na-ah"!
Take care
x
Old Kitty, you always make me laugh! Yes, I am Sarah Hardng undercover... shhhhhh! :)
ReplyDeleteOur building ia dingy grey because we're too lazy to paint it. We did our front wall last year and within about a week it was grey again thanks to the wonderful London pollution!
You know, it was sunny here for about 5 seconds. Fingers crossed!
Wow. You live in a gorgeous place and I can feel the vibrancy and the history of the neighborhood. I'm jealous. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm packing up me and the Monster Baby and we'll be coming to visit shortly. I know you're a writer and hate houseguests so we won't stay with you but you will have to show us around the neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tour of your scenic neighborhood. And a lovely Saturday to you as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tour - beautiful! I don't think pictures of my suburbia USA neighborhood would quite compare. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a beautiful area. I love that last picture of the columns. Thanks for sharing your neighborhood!

Oooooooo. Nice, very nice. Have a wonderful week-end!
ReplyDeleteLoved the tour through your area! It satisfied the voyeur in me.
ReplyDeleteWhen I get around to having a contest I should totally make everyone stand at their front door and take a picture!
(not much to see out my front door)
Beautiful photos and a lovely neighborhood. Hope you have a great weekend despite the rain. We have a chance of rain today and Monday with a windy day in between.

Beautiful neighborhood, with lots of history in its design. The antique shop would be fun to browse!
ReplyDeleteThose are really gorgeous photos - what a lovely place to live :)
ReplyDeleteYou are my latest follower so I decided to come and have a look. This is brilliant another British Booky person to follow. Thanks for helping me find you.
ReplyDeleteWow, you live in a beautiful area! I hope it soon gets sunny for you this weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove your neighborhood and great pics! Have a good weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThat's gorgeous there! You're so lucky. :-) Sorry your weather isn't behaving. My street isn't nearly so pretty, but our weather today makes up for it. (at least, for today it does. lol. Not in general.)
ReplyDeleteHi Talli. Lovely pics - I recognise those buildings, live just down the road from the Orangery! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a lovely comment. Congratulations on finding your publisher, VERY exciting & will be following your news with interest too.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! It is such a lovely area, my photos don't really do it justice but there'll be more, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteStephanie and LindyLou, thanks so much for coming by! I can't wait to read more of your posts, too!
Great pictures, Talli! Have a great bank holiday. :-)

Beautiful pictures! I'm for sure jealous you live there and I don't! LOL. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!
I was over at Shannnon's blog, saw your profile Cup and thought, hmmm, so dropped in. Love your writing style. Enjoyed visiting your neighborhood. Why we Yanks love going to England. All that peaceful beauty. And rich history. (Also read your previous post, a testament to True Grit!)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful pictures - I'm especially fond of the last one.
ReplyDeleteI don't suppose a house guest from Canada would be welcome? I DO need to come for research for my book...
I love it when people feel settled and love where they live. I tend to be the "life is elsewhere" type of person. Maybe I just haven't found the right place.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I would love to live in a neighborhood like that!
ReplyDeleteLovely! And educational. I didn't even know "orangery" was a word before this post. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your upcoming publication! (found you through Jen's blog)
Great pictures. Your street looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteHappy bank holiday weekend Talli. :)
Love those columns. So elegant.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tour!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous columns and everything a knight-rambler might require
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I remember visiting Kensington Palace back in 2004. I was supposed to have cream tea at the Orangery but the lines were too long! I see it's still popular with the tourists! ;) Thanks for the lovely tour and enjoy the long weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteBtw, I guess I called you "Roland" on one of my comments. I felt stupid as I saw you're a lovely lady. Sorry!
What beautiful photos. I love seeing where people live, it helps me "try" to find beauty in my own hometown. I haven't succeeded yet so I currently live in jealousy.
ReplyDelete!!! I love the columns! (One day....when I've sold lots of books and made lots of money (a girl can dream), I'd love to live in London in a house with columns!!
ReplyDelete(seriously, that is one of my writing dreams).
I lived in London - gulp - twenty years ago. Where has the time gone? Good to meet you Talli!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to live in London. It looks brilliant... and congrats on winning Nicola's Wasted competition.
ReplyDeleteI love it :)
ReplyDeleteI've been to London once and I sooo want to go back.
:D
Glad you all enjoyed the tour! I'll post some more photos in the future; honestly, I just can't get enough of where I live!
ReplyDeleteRosalind, thanks for the heads-up! I didn't know I'd won! Yay!
Flowerpot, thanks for dropping by my blog. I'm always on the look-out for British bloggers! :)
Beautiful!!! A good friend of mine just moved to London. I've never been there, so I am hoping to hop across the ocean sometime during her 2 year stay there. I sure hope it works out!
ReplyDeleteLondon????
ReplyDeleteWhen I first landed in London (on a week long business trip - my only one so far), I found the whole city vaguely familiar. Finally figured out that so much of my misspent youth had been spent on reading books set in the city that it was almost home to me.
I am so jealous of you.
