Hope that title got your attention! : )
Stephanie at Bah to Cancer has just announced a wonderful initiative where, for a £2 donation to a cancer charity, you have the chance to win loads of wonderful books. Head over to check it out, along with some great author interviews. Stephanie's defeated breast cancer and a she's brilliant blogger, too.
Update: Stephanie has just told me the contest is open to non-UK residents, too.
Next up, the wonderful Kim Franklin and TJ Carson tagged me with this and it looked so fun I couldn't wait to do it!
Question 1: Where were you 5 years ago?
In London
Teaching hooligans in a local comprehensive
Trying not to become an alcoholic by drowning my sorrows each evening
Trying to write each evening but failing miserably
Desperate for sleep!
Question 2: Where would you like to be 5 years from now?
Still in London
With an extra wardrobe so I don't need to rotate my clothes every month!
I'd love to have a cat for added writing distraction
On the Times bestseller list (one can dream, right?)
(This probably doesn't count because it's not for me, but I'd love my for husband's first film to still be released and playing regularly in cinemas around the world!)
Question 3: What is (was) your to-do list today?
Ugh, do you really want to know?
Outline new idea
Talk to publisher re: launch activities for my non-fiction title next week
Write a pitch for media
Blog and check out other blogs
Drink wine and eat! (OK, it's not on my to-do list but it should be!)
Question 4: What 5 snacks do you enjoy?
Cupcakes!
Chocolate!
Licorice All-Sorts!
Cupcakes!
Chocolate!
Question 5: What 5 things would you do if you were a billionaire?
Do loads of print runs for my books, then buy them all so I could make the bestsellers list!
Make a cupcake a day mandatory for all schools
Make books out of candy so kids want to read more
Buy my own vineyard in France
Seriously: I'd love to introduce more literary schemes to help improve children's reading skills
Now I'm supposed to tag five people:
India Drummond (I will stalk you if you don't do this!)
Brigid
Deniz Bevan
May Day Writer
Mel Chesley
I had fun reading this! I'd love a cupcake a day in school. And it's a great idea to buy all of your books so you're a best seller! I didn't think of that. Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteYes, your title did catch my attention. Since the contest is open to non-UK residents I'm popping over to check it out. Thanks.

Ok so, you are totally hilarious. I can't wait to read your book :)
ReplyDeleteFun, fun with all the tagging info! I will have to check out the contest too.
Hm, I'm liking the cupcakes-chocolate thing going on in the snacks here :)
ReplyDeleteLove all the writing wishes and the chocolate and cupcakes. The licorice is not for me, but chocolate...hmmm. And more clothes. I like that one, too.

I loved your answers! I especially love the idea to launch programs to boost children's literacy.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...cupcakes...!
YAY FOR BEING TAGGED! I need to do mine, but tomorrow is your big interview day so maybe I'll save it for Thursday!!!
ReplyDeleteUmm if you become a billionaire can I live in a wing in your fabulous house (which I know you'll buy as well) and then join you in the rest of your list?? It's just super awesome!
What fun! Cupcakes and books for everyone!
ReplyDeleteYep, that was an eye-catching title and I sense a cupcake them going ;)
ReplyDeleteLoved your answers!
First (writer's) arse now tits.
ReplyDeleteHonestly woman! Don't you know that there are children around?!?! Not those hooligans you taught - you poor woman. So glad you are now a writer!
:-)
Thanks for the links and good for Stephanie - definitely Bah and Boo to cancer!!
I agree - I'd have voted for the candidate that proposed compulsory cupcake eating per day in all institutions or else a penalty fine of a carrot!
I hope your hubby's film gets shown too and maybe one day he'll make a film out of your Times bestseller!! Yay!
p.s. you can't be a writer without a CAT!!! :-)
Take care
x
Haha! Tits and bums, who knows what will be next?!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I like the idea of a carrot as a penalty. Shame I didn't run for MP this election. Maybe next time.
I *so* want a cat! It's just, we live in a small flat with no outdoor space. And animals love my husband (seriously, they flock to him in the park) but he says he doesn't like them. I think he's lying.
However, he did say if his film gets a distribution deal then I can get a cat! I intend to hold him to that.
If anyone wants to check out his brilliant film (I'm a bit biased), go to www.anaphylaxisthefilm.com. It is quite dark, so be warned!
A book made out of candy?!?!!? Sign me up!
ReplyDeleteHahaha this is great! Books made out of candy... a cupcake a day... you've got a kick ass list. ;) Enjoyed reading it!
ReplyDeleteGreat title - got my attention!
ReplyDeleteI'd love a book out of candy, could it be Reese's?
I've been on vacation or I would have told you in your previous post that I hate the word "panties", too. Ewww, creeps me out, LOL.
Love your answers and what you would do the money!!!
ReplyDeleteTitle definitely got my attention! Not that I haven't heard that one before...
ReplyDeleteYou and your cupcakes hey?! Loving the idea of kids reading more books though - my boys are 2 and 5 and from the time they were babies I've read constantly to them (even if they don't always understand!), they have book collections like a bloody library! K xx
ReplyDeleteGreat title. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving us a little more insight on you and for the links.
Have a great day, Talli.
Yes the title caught my attention. Enjoyed reading this post. It was fun. Congrats on the award too! Thanks for all the great blog links. Have a wonderful Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI think some chocolate cupcakes are calling you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Talli, you certainly got my attention, thanks for tagging me, I am going to be in a computer free zone for a few days so I will be back on Friday to do my lists, should be fun !
ReplyDelete...that title assures you of snagging the attention of every male blogger in the modern world:) Great post!
ReplyDeleteNow you made me want Chocolate! Cupcakes! Chocolate! Cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteOh, alright, you didn't make me. It's my own fault I want chocolate all the time!
Btw, breast cancer can suck it! Women all over the world are defeating it every day! Cheers to them!!!
This post was great fun! I'm all for cancer research...and cupcakes!!
ReplyDeleteHave a super day!
Oh my gah! I've been tagged! ::faints::
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree...cupcakes and books made out of candy for kids. That'll get 'em reading!
Great idea, thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteCupcakes? Yes please!
Um, won't the kids just eat the books made out of candy? I like reading as much as the next person but if the pages were edible I might have gobbled the whole book before reaching the end of the story.
ReplyDeleteThen again, edible books would probably be big sellers. You certainly wouldn't find them in any library. They'd be taken out and never brought back. I think you should patent that idea fast.
Oh yes, good point, Helen. Minor details! Oh well, it might whet their appetite (hehe!).
ReplyDeleteooooooooooo boobies! ;) lol
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Question 4? Genius answers! Also isn't cupcake day mandatory in the UK anyway? I thought Wednesdays were cupcake days... I've been participating for years :P
ReplyDeleteYay for cupcakes and chocolate!!!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness I would eat a candy book before reading it haha. And MANDATORY cupcake day is needed worldwide. Wine sounds good now haha. And good luck with the Publisher's to-do list, I will def buy your book and hope you make NYT Bestseller list!
ReplyDeleteThanks for bringing attention to such a worthy cause! I think anyone with breasts wants chocolate and cupcakes on a regular basis, myself included.
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for the follow and comment on my blog. Will be lurking around here more often!
I'd love to have a cat for added writing distraction.
ReplyDeleteHA! Ha! No probs, I'll put mine in the post to you. Flat (cat) packed! She'll sit on your keyboard though and stop you working. ;-)
Thanks for popping over to my blog btw :)
Oh, Talli, love, you're going to stalk me whether I do this or not.
ReplyDeleteLoved your answers... will give it some thoughts and do it later this week... after the WAG.
I can't believe donuts didn't make your list though! Harumph!
This is a neat way to find out a little something more about you! Fun.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I want cupcake day everyday. :)
ReplyDeleteCupcakes for everyone! Except India; she gets a donut! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so fun, nice to get to know you a little better Talli!
ReplyDeleteYou're blonde, you're pretty AND you're funny!
ReplyDeleteYou lost me at cupcakes. Yum... cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteI only have a few minutes before I have to leave for my daughter's school ceremony tonight, but I saw your post title and I just had to come read it.
ReplyDeleteI love your answers - cupcakes and chocolate, hooray!
You're in a MUCH better place than you were five years ago! You give me hope. As a matter of fact, I think I'm in that place now. I try to keep it to one glass of red wine a night!
ReplyDeleteA second wardrobe and a on the bestseller list? I'm rooting for you!
Love your answers!!
ReplyDeleteLicorice All-Sorts - yummy! I haven't thought of them in absolute years. My parents used to give me a tin of them every year at Christmas. I always saved the little brown topped ones & the red jelly ones for last :)
yes, great title! Good for you for promoting this!
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't need to have two lots of chocolate on their to-do list every day... In fact I'd substitute the two cupcakes and make it four chocolates!
ReplyDeleteOh cupcakes. Sounds heavenly. It's been a very long time since I've had a good cupcake.
ReplyDeleteYes, cupcakes should be made mandatory!!!
ReplyDeleteawww yummy licorice allsorts. I like to nibble off one layer at a time :o))) Great list.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry...breasts...wait, cupcakes. I'm now thoroughly distracted.
