One of my favourite ways of upping my salt intake is by eating crisps; in particular, Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar by Kettle Chips. In my corporate days I'd arrive at my home Tube station so hungry that my stomach was eating itself. Only by diverting it through the consumption of Kettle Chips did I manage to stop it from destruction. This became such a regular practice that the shop-assistant at the station picked up a packet of crisps as soon as he saw me coming. Fame at last!
Although these days my crisp consumption is declining, Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar is still the flavour I grab when feel the salty shakes coming on.
Yay for salt and its glorious... saltiness!
Mmmm. Sea salt and vinegar is my favorite! Never had these chips, but they look awe-some!
ReplyDeleteYum, that sounds delicious!

Yum. I love Kettle Chips. Okay, and now I know you're a Brit because you called them crisps, haha.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is making me crave certain foods today!
Oh well, have a good one. Happy writing to you.
Oh I love these kettle chips! My favorite is the Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper. yum
ReplyDeleteI must confess to being a bit of a fiend for salt. I try not to add it to things, but love it sprinkled on salads, potatoes in all forms, and pasta. I'm more of a chocolate lass than a crisp gal (guiltily hides Cadbury's Twirl) but if I was going for crisps it would be Walker's salt n vinegar, or these you have above. Mmm.
ReplyDeleteMy salt craving is satisfied by popcorn. Mmmm...
ReplyDeleteI don't like salty chips all that much, but I do like nachos. :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter loves these kinds of chips. I now feel the need to go get some. :)
ReplyDeleteI love sea salt, and use it often on my grilled veggies.
ReplyDeleteI'm off in a few minutes to a baby shower. I know that there will be nothing but yummy AND healthy food there. All I want is potato chips thanks to you, missy! Maybe I'll stop on the way - I like lime and cracked pepper. I used to like Bar-b-que but too sweet now. I'm not as salt mad as my man but still!
ReplyDeleteI love salty food. I don't eat chips all that often, but I do crave them. Mmmm.
ReplyDeleteI don't eat chips very often - but plain ripple chips are my absolute favourite - can't pass them up if they're there :)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried that variety of crisp. I doubt it's available in my area. Sounds tasty.
ReplyDeleteI am now experience a sudden craving for something bad for me.
Kettle Chips are fantastic :)
ReplyDeleteI also love Burt's Handcooked crips, and a brand called Salty Dog that my local bagel place sells. Gotta love crisps. . .
I am a salt-o-holic!!! Thanks goodness I'm a vegan with low blood pressure...
ReplyDeleteThese chips are amazing.
This is funny - my husband's on a total anti-salt kick right now. At almost every meal time we hear him bemoan the salt content of just about every food on the table. He reads it off of salad dressing bottles, milk containers, just about anything he can find. I'm so ready for this phase to pass!
ReplyDeleteI, too, love those sea salt & balsamic vinegar chips. I can't eat too many, though, 'cause they are tart!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna try to remember to call them crisps instead of chips.

Thanks, everyone, for sharing the salt love! Right after writing that post, I had to run to the shop and get a packet! I was practically drooling.
ReplyDeleteAnd nachos... oh yes... how I love them.
Ellen - I love Salty Dog, too!
Chips. Must have salty chips from proper chippy shop. Salt and vinegar.
ReplyDeleteWith maybe a gherkin or two.
:-)
Take care

Wow, sea salt and vinegar are my fave, but balsamic vinegar??? o.O Yum! Love the saltiness of those chips in particular. Can't have just any sort of salt and vinegar chip. ;)
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried putting them on a sandwich? Sliced turkey, lettuce, mustard, mayo, Kettle Chips = Delish. :)
ReplyDeleteI love salt too, the more, the better. I'm not sure how much more my poor heart can take, but I have to say that it is better than sweets...right? RIGHT? Who knows? But what I say is, if we can't eat what we love, what's the point? Moderation is the key, it's just hard to stop when you're full!
ReplyDeleteThe best ones ever are the new Phineas Fogg ones, yummers!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big chip eater; more of a chocolate fiend here, but those are my hubby's FAVORITES! :)
