It's yet another gorgeous day here in London (I can scarcely believe this weather!), reminding me of a beautiful weekend I spent in the Cotwolds around this time a few years ago.
Gorgeous, Talli, we got to some of these lovely places in our London years, love your Something for Saturday pics, sun shining here in Ireland, shocking !!
went there years ago with the ex and had a thoroughly wonderful time!!! except that we got caught in the hunting season WHILST walking and had to literally run for our lives!
very funny.. but it is absolutely beautiful there - lovely, lovely, lovely.
Okay I am like so jealous... this place looks beautiful and the weather gorgeous!!! I need to find houses like that around Houston... not worht looking I know they don't exist :(
Thanks for this looksee. Yes, it does look like the shire. My mother was from London but so far I haven't crossed the Atlantic to see her country. One day! It's grim and dreary here, more like usual English weather - so these were a lovely break. Have you written any stories in these gorgeous places? they make the mind ramble.
I'm sitting at work in my campus library in a small town in Arkansas in the US where the weather is torn between storming and sunny. I don't know that I've ever been more jealous. Gorgeous pictures!
We used to holiday in the Cotswolds a lot with our kids, and they used to call the tops of those walls 'toast racks'. We knew we'd got to the Cotswolds when someone shouted out 'Toast racks! Toast racks!'
Someone said to me yesterday, "Well, you're lucky because you got married in London," which is strange because I have never been to London. But, how gorgeous! I should have.
The second photo is definitely Bilbury. I love the Cotswolds, my Grandmother used to live in Broadway when I was a young 'un. So every time I've been to England I have gone back to the area.
Beautiful pictures! I'd love to visit there some day. I have such a long travel list. Greece, England, France, Scotland... Netherlands. ::Sighs:: Some day.
Sigh. Your photos bring back such lovely memories of my study abroad experience in Cheltenham. I've also been to Bibury, the little village in the second photo, though it was January and not so green and sunny.
I love these photos. Someday...I'm sure you've heard it, I'd love to travel England and Scotland.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. Beautiful. I can't believe I didn't get to London in all the years I lived in Europe. Bad me!

Oh wow! I've been there! I think I have the exact same photo as your second one, except it was covered in snow. Is the place called Bibery?
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying the photos everyone! It was SO lovely there - these are taken around Chipping Campden, Broadway and Snowshill. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAA - Or maybe Bibury, too? I actually can't remember...
Brigid - Enjoy the Irish sun while you can! :)
Thanks for the photos, Talli. I've visted England several times and the scenery is breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! It looks like a fairy tale! Beautiful. It kind of reminds me of that movie The Holiday. :)
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous pictures! They almost look like the Shire.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos - enough to make me get off my writer's arse and get out into the sunshine!

So, so beautiful. I feel so sad looking at them, though. That last one reminds me so much of the Peak District where I lived.
