I think this one is a 'love it or leave it' kind of dessert, but I happen to love it! If it's done properly, there's paradise to be found under the crispy sugary coating.
Tap your way through the top and ladle a spoonful of smooth creamy goodness into your mouth.
I always tunnel through the surface, eat the cream, then finish it off with a blast of sweetness sticking to my teeth.
Thank you to everyone who gave me an award this week! I'll pass them on shortly!
Mmmmmmm gimme, gimme, gimme. And I haven't even had breakfast yet!
ReplyDeleteI love it too. And I haven't had breakfast yet either.
ReplyDeleteLeft you a comment on my shiny post, Talli.
I do love sweet things at breakfast-insulin shock be damned!
ReplyDeleteI've never had creme brulee! But it does look lovely. My problem is I always choose the dessert with chocolate!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, creme brulee...very good, very good indeed!
ReplyDeleteOh, sweet perfection!
ReplyDeleteThat's how I eat mine too :0)
One of my favorites!!
ReplyDelete*drooling*
ReplyDeleteCreme Brulee
ReplyDeleteYum, yum, yum!!!!!
Especially as the spoon breaks that yummy crusty bit..!!
Yum!!
:-)
Take care

I've never had creme brulee, but that looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteThat is my favorite dessert of ALL TIME!!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband makes it for us each Thanksgiving, it is divine.
You know, I've never liked custard so I don't enjoy it the way so many other people do. I guess I wouldn't like flan either, haha. But I do like it when other people have it, so I can watch when the waiter flames their sugar. Flames are cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm much more of an icecream gal myself, but that does look amazing!
ReplyDeleteSweet Sundays make me all warm and fuzzy inside. Oh wait, that's the rumble of a hungry stomach. Sigh. Wish I had creme brulee!
ReplyDeleteYummy!
ReplyDeleteYUM! I haven't had breakfast so I'm even hungrier now!
ReplyDeleteIf only I could eat cream...
ReplyDeleteI've never had this. No matter how yummy it looks, the creme part will keep me away.
ReplyDeleteAll you have to say is creme brulee, and I'm there. Yum. Must make some creme brulee. Yum Yum Yum.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite. Gimme gimme.
ReplyDeleteI love creme brulee and you're right, it has to be made right. You got some awards did you? Well, guess what....I have something for you too!
ReplyDelete(funny how with blogger when you save something and then publish it a day later it's not dated by the publish date)
Love creme brulee, but only have it at restaurants. Have never tried to make it myself.

Yummy creme brulee! I think I'd burn it if I tried to make it!
ReplyDeleteAaarrrggg....I just started a diet today!! *goes off to cry in a corner*

One of my favorites. Yum!
ReplyDeleteFavorite. Dessert. Ever. I used to live in a place that had the BEST creme brulee, and I haven't eaten any better since. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI'd ask for the recipe but a chef would need to be included. (I cook, but not breakfast items.)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a features writer and did some restaurant reviews, I was asked if I would do a round-up of best creme broulee. Then the editor decided they didn't have the budget to send me to a bunch of high-priced restaurants. Le sigh.
ReplyDeleteI love creme broulee. Mostly I like it traditionally as you describe, but I recently had one in an Italian restaurant that had some dark espresso sauce. Oh. My.
Seared sweetness!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so glad to hear my passion is shared!
ReplyDeleteTricia - espresso sauce! YUUMM! (*wipes drool*)
Talli,
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about dieting. Now it will just have to wait!
I love creme brulee...
I'm a terrible fuss when it comes to puddings, but you describe it so beautifully, I'm almost tempted
ReplyDeleteaww yum. I've just gone on a diet, but I can still admire through the computer screen :o)
ReplyDeleteI had a gourmet friend who used to make this for our weekday play dates with our daughters - it was always such a treat!
ReplyDeleteMmm yummy! Now I'm craving sweet things, damnit! XD
ReplyDeleteI used to work in a bakery and had to make these. I'm not a big sweets fan because of working in the bakery. The way you describe it can make anyone's mouth water. :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks and sounds really, really good! :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks and sounds so incredibly yummy!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, this makes me hungry!
ReplyDeleteOh yum, this is definitely one of my favourites too.
ReplyDeleteDelicious. I can't believe that some people have NEVER had a crème brulee. They ought to be obligatory.
ReplyDeleteI love this dessert. So rich and decadent.
ReplyDeleteCreme brulee is the best! I don't think I'd try to make it myself. But that's just as well. LOL
ReplyDeleteUh oh. I blame you when the number on my weighing scale refuses to change!!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love creme brulee. My 11-year-old son recently invented banana brulee, which has less calories.
ReplyDeleteI think this ranks up with some of my favorite desserts. Whenever we're out to a restaurant I either order the 'creme brulée' or the 'mousse au chocolate' and if I'm really feeling it, a 'moilleux au chocolate'- which can be like an orgasm on a plate. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteBest. Dessert. Ever.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, people, if you haven't tried this YOU MUST! And that's an order.
ReplyDeleteOh, am I glad you're a brulee girl! Happiness to me is cracking open the sugary lid of a warm creme brulee:)
