Around the Block

(Web Splashers: The email with all the details went out today! Click here to see the html version.)

So it being Friday and all, I thought I'd give you a little tour around my part of London. If I seem to be focused on London lately, it's because I haven't been writing much this week but I have been venturing out of the flat! I hope you enjoy the little tour around the area as much as I love living here.

Kensington Church Walk - a quiet little walkway lined with shops.

The Churchill Arms, my local pub. Delicious Thai food!
One of the many antique shops on my street.

Notting Hill Brasserie: a great neighbourhood restaurant, tucked away in a quiet street. And I'm off there this afternoon!

Happy Friday!

  8. It's always clear from you posts how much you love London! I only visited once (briefly). I'm so used to living in a small ish village, I think I'd be a bit intimidated by London! Your pictures are lovely though, I hope you enjoy your meal out!
I got the email, I'm also posed and poised!

  26. The Churchill Arms intrigues me...

London's featuring into my work, but only in the form of Ten Downing and the Vauxhall Cross headquarters of MI6...

  30. Hi Talli, thanks for the e-mail - only a few days to go now! How exciting!
I'm not a city person - I don't think I would get on well living in London. Love visiting though - and going home again afterwards (only 40 mins away). I imagine it's like being a grand parent - love the babies, especially when you can give them back at the end of the day!

  31. nice photos Talli. Living in town, sure has it's advantages... We have to drive to get to the store...

  33. Fab photo tour! Didn't show how cold you must have been walking around and taking those photos though!

  34. I love that little walkway. If I was a kid I'd be riding bikes/shopping carts up and down that all day. The best part would be crashing into the wall.

  35. Excellent pictures and a little glimpse into your life. I love antique shops. We have one or two up here but they're in the middle of nowhere!

  37. Hi Talli .. reminds me of my days of yore .. I used to live in Arundel Gardens .. off Ladbroke Grove & Kensington Park Road .. when Portobello was just having its renaissance ..

Must be lovely living there - and hope you had a great lunch? Cheers - the big splash coming soon .. easier to do it in the comfort of our home - than having to get into the car & travel on snow ridden streets .. as we have here!

Have a great anticipatory weekend .. thinking of you .. Hilary

  43. I too adore London. The only difference is that I have never lived there, and spent only a week actually in the city. But, I am pretty sure I would never get lost there, because I know the place well enough through my reading.
