It was hard to leave behind some glorious sun and lovely warm temperatures for the rainy confines of London, but I'm happy to be back! Although I managed to squeeze out a few posts in between wine-swilling and seafood-stuffing episodes, I really missed visiting your blogs. Yes, I am an addict.
We arrived back in London in the early morning and by seven a.m. we were unpacked and trying to remember where we'd parked the car. A few turns 'round the 'hood later, and we were faced with the horror we had tried to avoid: a massive lorry was now occupying the space we'd parked the car. Either the lorry had crunched its way over our vehicle or... the council had towed it away. A few frantic phone calls, a visit to darkest Chelsea and £600 later and the car was ours again. Welcome home.
Life in London has improved since then, though! In a jetlagged-fuelled energy burst, I managed to create a Facebook Events Page for the newly-named Take on Amazon Web Splash (evolving from Blogsplash to include Facebook and Twitter) and send out an email to everyone taking part. If you didn't get an email -- or if you're not signed up but just want to see what's going on with it -- click here. And if you do want to sign up, there's plenty of time! You may have noticed by the nifty thermometer gauge on my side bar that I'm well over a quarter of the way to my goal of 1000, with still two months left. Thanks to much everyone!
With everything that's been going on, I'm extending my September contest to Oct 15. All you have to do is be a follower before that date and you're in!
I can't wait to catch up with everyone!
Welcome back, Talli. Bummer about the car. But at least it wasn't stolen, I suppose. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz. Very true. If it was stolen it definitely wouldn't have been a good welcome home!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I hope you are back with renewed energy and enthusiasm for your awesome ebook release! Woo hoo! I'm leaving on vacation next week and have so much to do I don't want to go, but I know I'll be glad I did. When I'm there, and when I get back.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on getting all those sign-ups! I saw your email this morning, I felt an urge to do a happy dance for you :-)
ReplyDeleteThat does NOT sound like a fun way to return home. 600 quid. Really?! That's just nasty.
Welcome back! Too bad about the car.
ReplyDeleteLove the thermometer. I'm really excited to see how this works for you.
Mary
Yikes!!! I'm glad you got your car back, even though you did have to pay a hefty fine! Brought you back to realtiy quickly I'm sure, lol.
ReplyDeleteI did receive your email but at work I can't add you on my facebook (they don't like facebook) so this week I'll become a fan!
I'm looking forward to the December Splash!!! It's going to be huge! I'm giving you a great shout out coming up here!!!
Glad you have you back! That's awful about your car, but I'm glad it wasn't stolen.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you're back!!! I'm sorry about the car :( So jealous of your amazing vacations!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back sweetie and hope to see you around~ xx
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, there's no place like home, is there?
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering last night where you were! I was going through my dashboard trying to update my blog buttons and came across you and thought it was odd you hadn't posted in awhile! :-)
ReplyDeleteAs you know I got the email, sorry I have still not been able to post the button :(
ReplyDeleteYay! You're back!!! I'm glad. :D
ReplyDeleteWelcome home. I was most impressed with the blue skies you posted while you were away.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I thought I'd signed up (late, admittedly) for the blog splash but I haven't received anything....
Can you help?
Stink about the car. You sound so matter of fact about it though. Wow. I'd still be grumbling.
ReplyDeleteBut welcome back!
What happened to your car? Why was it taken away?? Why didn't you bring home Moose? :-)
ReplyDeleteQuestions questions!
Anyway - WELCOME HOME!!!!!
You've not missed much. LOL! There's a strike on!
Take care
x
Welcome back, Talli! I'm glad you got home safely, although the problem with the car was very unfortunate.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the Amazon Web Splash day! :)
Going to check out the new FB page!! Glad to have you back! I just launched a short-story writing contest with awesome prises. Would you give a girl a hand and let your peeps know about it?? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back, even if seafood IS the best.
ReplyDeleteYay! You're back! I'm so excited about your blogsplash.
ReplyDeleteThe LSO and I will be in London Friday and Saturday - we're seeing AHA at the Royal Albert Hall!
Welcome back to addiction land! I think I'm in the same addiction boat.
ReplyDeleteI have a question: How does one create a facebook event page?
Oh, and happy with x factor results?

Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back! Sucks the car was towed, though.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back after your fabulous holiday.
ReplyDeleteI received your email this morning and look forward to taking part.
600 quid is a lot I recommend talking to the borough or whoever is in charge to get some of it back some of the recommended tactics are begging, crying, anger, threatening to sue it might work.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back
The towing of your car bites the big one. But I imagine Nova Scotia was worth at least most of it :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome home and back to blogging.
I'm so sorry about your car. I told my husband and he couldn't believe the tab. We have a friend who lives in Cambridge. If either of us are away, we park our car by the other's house, just in case of last minute no parking. Honestly, I would've never thought of doing such a thing. My husband and friend are the ones who always remember. But after your story, I'll make sure to do it too.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!
Welcome back to blogworld. xx
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! You have way more energy upon return than I ever seem to have. LOL. Sucks about your car!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Dec. 1st!!

ReplyDeleteWelcome back!!!! Really enjoyed the pictures while you were away.
ReplyDeleteTalli,
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back. You sure look like you had a great time over there. Too bad about the car incident. That's a lot of money to fork over! But as Liz wrote, at least it wasn't stolen!
Welcome back Talli. Opps, I forgot I am over here at the moment not over there! I get confused. Well anyway, welcome back to blogging land.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the car, but then it is always something isn't it. If it's not lost suitcases it's an impounded car!!!
Looking forward to the great blogsplash.
Welcome back! We missed you. :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Talli!!! Blogger missed you, too!
ReplyDeleteYikes! That's a LOT of money!!!
