I'll keep this short but not sweet: I'm over at
The Naked Character today, talking about why I love writing kick-ass female heroines. Drop by if you get the chance!
And have a fantastic weekend.
PS - I'm having some issues replying to comments over there right now, but I do read and appreciate each one. :)
YES! Strong female characters! I want to see more of them in EVERY genre! :)
ReplyDeleteLeave it to you to mention naked and alcohol in your posts and call me over every time. It's like we were meant for each other! LOL...
ReplyDeleteIt's been brought to my attention that I wrote 'kiss ass' instead of 'kick ass'! Oops - sorted now!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alexandra! I think more and more genres feature stronger heroines now. Thank goodness.
Jen, ha!I think we were separated at birth.
Just love taking a trip on Fridays!
ReplyDeleteErm... I left a comment over at Naked's just after Cap'n Alex's and I'm not sure it went through! Oh dear!!! Running away now! Take care

Ha! You knew that naked thing would bring me running, yes?
ReplyDeleteNIce interview. It's obvious you have a deep understanding of your character, and what you want as a writer. Great read.
ReplyDeleteHi Talli .. love the comedic mistake .. but am on my way over to see the Naked Friday full of strong characters .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteTalli, I think you're right! I've been seeing more of them in the past few years. It makes me glad, because it's the only kind of heroine I write, and my favorite kind of book to read (I like any genre if I can really identify with the strong female lead!).
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend, Talli.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! :) Off to read your interview now!
ReplyDeleteLately, it is difficult to exist in the blogosphere, and especially to leave comments. I wish you a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHooray kick-ass female characters! Brilliant, off to read that now!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend too!
With a title like that, how can I not stop by?!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good thing!
ReplyDeleteIn Fire's Daughter, I wrote a kick-ass character who doesn't really know she's kick-ass at the beginning of the story. But that's what makes it fun. Letting the reader find out along with her, or, sometimes even before her.
Kick-ass women are good!
Fabulous post Talli. I really loved it.
ReplyDeleteI'll head over later today to read about your strong female characters. I already love Mattie, so I'm looking forward to it! Julie
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend too. I'll check that out.
ReplyDeleteOff I go - have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post, and you can't beat kick-ass female characters. I can't wait to read Hating Game and your upcoming Willow Watts as well. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend too!
Here's to strong women. Just finished a Terry Pratchett book, Monstrous Regiment, with several strong female characters. (It's part of his Discworld series so there's lost of tongue in cheek.)
ReplyDeleteI love strong female characters. :) Have a fantastic weekend!
ReplyDeleteWell, now there's a blog title!
ReplyDeleteI love strong female characters, too. Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun..
ReplyDeleteI love strong female characters. Even in my m/g fantasy my girls are FIERCE....
Have a great weekend Talli
ooh, I love kiss ass leads; we need more women like that~ I will stop by~
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you!
Strong women. The only kind to have. Years ago there used to be spark plugs advertised as "Tough but oh so gentle." Kind of like that. Ha
ReplyDeleteManzanita@Wannabuyaduck
...female heroines have gradually become all the rage in both the literary world, as well as in Hollywood.
ReplyDeleteIt has opened the doors for the likes of Katniss Everdeen and others to stand in the forefront of the action/drama genre.
Heading over there now, Talli ;)
EL
I'll go check it out!
ReplyDeleteCool ... cI'll stop by and check it out.
ReplyDeleteTalli, I'm back! Boy have I missed you :D
ReplyDeleteGoing there to check this post! Cheers my dear!
Hurrah for strong female characters... just wish I was one :) Ditzy, clumsy, disorganised, dithery... oh yeah, that's me ... Great article Talli
ReplyDeleteLx
Great post, Talli. There's something about a strong heroine who stands her ground with an arched brow that just makes me go 'Yeah!' x
ReplyDeleteI read your Naked post and loved it! Can't have enough kick-ass heroines. (And if they yell a random "kiss my ass", even better.)
ReplyDeleteHi Talli. I'm going over now. Is it hot enough to be naked over there, ha ha ha ha...
ReplyDeleteNo wimpy characters for me; I like them with some serious personality. What a great post!
ReplyDeleteSounds good, will by by shortly!
ReplyDeleteGoing over to check the interview now....
ReplyDeleteAwesome.
ReplyDeleteAs a fan of kick-ass females, I look forward to checking this one out.
Hehe. I can't stop laughing at the title! I'm popping over to read your post now.
