On the Roof!
Every once in awhile, a weekend comes along that reminds me how much I love London. This past weekend was exactly that! I've yammered on before about how much I love the Southbank. With the Vintage Festival happening and temperatures reaching 25C (heatwave by London standards), Mr TR, step-daughter and I hopped in the car and went over to the river.

We can't compete with your weekend but I did cook my chicken supper for friends yesterday and we sipped drinks in our new garden swing seat.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteMe fun? No, don't know what that word means...I need to get out of the house more.
Looks like a fun time - and with a great view.
ReplyDeletePimms! :o)
ReplyDeletePimms! Love it and I've introduced it at many a party here. Pretty sure the makers should be giving me a commission.
ReplyDeleteThat looks fab, Talli.
ReplyDeleteI started a screenwriting course which I know sounds like work but it was held in one of our national historic houses and was great fun. Also, my daughter arrived home from a trip away so that was fun, too (even with all the washing)
Sounds like you had a great time. Lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteHi Talli .. looks just great .. I keep thinking about all the great events that London offers .. concerts in the park, art exhibitions etc etc .. looks like you all had a fabulous time .. fun! Very quiet down here .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteFrom rooftops to river's edge. Now that's what I call a perfect weekend. Get the most out of August. Squeeze it, shake it, love it.

ReplyDeleteThe pics were wonderful thanks for sharing.
Yvonne.
This looks idyllic... I'd like to see a photo of the Royal Festival Hall rooftop garden from the London eye. Anyone have one?? Jane Gray
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fab time. We loved working in London when we lived in UK. We enjoyed it all. Thanks for reminding us of some fabby times there too. xx
ReplyDeleteWe did a bunch of back-breaking labor in our yard... :) But I did get the foundation shrubs planted at the front of the house, so that makes me happy. Looks like you had a much more relaxing weekend. :)
ReplyDeletelooks like so much fun! I wish I got into Paris enough to enjoy the city like that. Btw - finished 'The Hating Game'- really liked it!!!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh! That looks just wonderful! Thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time - envious as I wish I'd been in London in this nice weather! Love the pics. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous view! Makes me wish I lived there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views, lovely Pimms, perfect weather!! Yay for a gorgeous summer's weekend!! Take care

If I'm honest, it's been a rough weekend. But in among all the low points we've had, there's been seeing Captain America on Friday and going for a drink with friends after. And there's the fact I've written three chapters of my WIP between yesterday and today.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun. Now I'm feeling home-sick for London!
ReplyDeletehi miss talli! wow! looks like a real fun place. im just real happy you went and had a fun time. for me i did one of my most favorite things and that swimming. i got a new snorkel and its soooo cool.
ReplyDelete...hugs from lenny
I love the angle of the sunlight. Totally looks like summer. Glad you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious good time!!!! I love those moments where the city is yours and you just can't help but love where you're at.
ReplyDeleteI had that two weeks ago. This time I have a camera to capture those moments!
You got some lovely pictures, Talli. Sounds like you had an enjoyable time.
ReplyDeleteMy weekend fun was seeing Captain America. We double dated with my teen and his girlfriend. After the movie we went to dinner.
Sia McKye's Thoughts...OVER COFFEE
Ah, wonderful summery weekend! I could do with some Pimms right about now. Isn't it amazing today? I went swimming, yah me. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAh, I love that last photo, Talls! Very romantic. A sweet post to kick off the week. :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos. I'm taking Amy to London at the end of this month and we have a trip on the London Eye booked!
ReplyDeleteCJ xx
Looks like you had fun!
ReplyDeleteWent to a beautiful village two hours south of us on the Mediterranean sea called Collioures, after picking up 11-yr-old from scuba camp! It was great...and a nice break from writing!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go back.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteWe went to the beach this weekend, which was lots of fun, but no festivals involved.
Beautiful pics! Glad you had a great time. =D
ReplyDeleteOh, how I long to visit the fair city of London....
ReplyDeleteDefinitely looks like a fabulous day!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful surroundings and a perfect view! Glad you had such a wonderful time! Julie
ReplyDeleteLondon is one of the world's great cities. Thanks for sharing your photos.
ReplyDeleteNow we've moved North of London I do miss the South bank. We used to take the kids up there on Sunday afternoons and especially loved those silver-clad mime artists who jump out at you when you're least expecting it.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! Thank you for sharing those photos with us. I have no idea what that temperature translates to in Fahrenheit but it looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh, why don't we have rooftop gardens here in the US?
ReplyDelete25c is so cold! Oh wait, that's 25f.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures. I recall a Pimms photo from last year. That last picture is lovely.
Glad you're not just living in a revision cave.
Cheers!
I don't know what Pimms is, but I hope it has vodka in it!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great weekend. Now I give... what the heck is Pimms?
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful weekend. I love that rooftop garden. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteHow delightful! What kind of drink is that?
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks like a lot of fun and I'm betting you had a great time...
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome. Never heard of Pimms, but it sounds yummy.
ReplyDeleteEdge of Your Seat Romance
That looks like fun! I had to work all weekend, but such is the life of a retail employee. Weekends are when all the shoppers come out, so it's pretty much required that the employees work every weekend.
ReplyDeleteI had my first Pimms a couple of weeks ago. Delicious!
ReplyDeleteSounds great The Edinburgh Festival has just started and it has a wonderful atmosphere (haven't been yet this year), but you can't sit beside the river, unless you go along to Leith!
ReplyDeleteoh that Pimms looks wonderful! I went to our musical director's special birthday party where we sat in te sun, ate cake and had a fabulous sing!
ReplyDeleteLondon is my favorite city in the world. I would move there in a heartbeat. Can you find me a job? Ha ha. Nice pics, Tali.
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks like so much fun. Great pictures!! I visited London once and have always wanted to return, such an amazing city.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm jealous. Pass the Pimms.
ReplyDeleteGosh the Southbank looks busy! I didn't get to the Vintage festival but it looked good. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your weekend. It's looks like it was so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful weekend. Just love those pics. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!! My weekend was lame, compared to that, but I did have fun. :)
ReplyDeleteOh how I miss London :(
ReplyDeleteNow that's a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThe pics make me want to visit London again!
Looks like a great weekend! It was my anniversary, so it was a special weekend for me too! Not to mention a bank holiday.
ReplyDeleteNice Talli,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a great time. On Sunday I spent the day having brunch with friends, went to finally see Midnight in Paris, WHICH I LOVED, and then a wonderful dinner at Cantina. Yumm...
Every writer must see MIDNIGHT IN PARIS...
Sure looks like you had fun! For me, I sat and edited and wrote, and did the chores...oh wait! went on an impromptu date with the husband! :)
ReplyDeleteGosh...that was like taking a mini vacation.
ReplyDeleteYou know what I like most about reading a post like this - feeling the passion in the writing. It's so believable and real when the passion flows out of the written word, as it does here.
Thanks, I enjoyed that!
Cheers,
Jenny
I moved back to Australia a year ago after living in London for three years. Reading posts like this remind what I gave up. It's so much harder finding funky events, like the Vintage Festival, in Sydney. They happen, but infrequently and on a much smaller scale.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pics. It's nice to see Southbank again, even if its only vicariously.
Sounds like you had a great time! My only visits to London seem to be a mad dash from one tube station to the other!
ReplyDeleteI had a great weekend, but nothing as fun as yours was. You can't beat London at times like those. Glad you had such a good time.
ReplyDeleteFeeling the need for some Pimms now!
I still remember my vacation to London and how much I fell in love with it. Grat photos - thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOoh, sweet pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteI visited my best friend this past weekend and we went to a huge concert. It was lots of fun!
Wow sounds like you had lots of fun! Love the pics!
ReplyDeletethat drink looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteI wish mine was as exciting. Looked like lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteoh i miss London! Wish I could've visited longer. Great pictures,Talli!

ReplyDeleteI'd love to visit London one day ;)
Talli, I like the picture. Much success with your book.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, Talli!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Your weekend looked divine.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed home as my wife recovers from her gall bladder removal surgery. Looks like you had a grand time though.

How fun! What's it like with all the prep for the Olympics? As for us, this weekend we went to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Ind.
ReplyDeleteYep. That's what I said. LOL! :D
Looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the visual treat:) You seem to have a really good grip on balance in your life, which is absolutely wonderful!
