Yes, it's this year's Christmas tree, dragged all the way across the North Sea from Norway and already starting to lose its needles. At almost eight feet, it's a big one -- but with our sky-scraper ceilings, size does matter. It needs to be tall or it looks almost comical.
I'm starting this week off with a few links to get us all in the Monday spirit! First off, I'm over at Len's, talking about my next novel and answering other great questions! I had the pleasure of talking to Len ON THE PHONE last week and I can tell you that she's every bit as nice as she comes across on her blog.
Next, for everyone who's still stumped on what to get me for Christmas, check out Chick Lit Reviews to see what's on my list!
For the writer in your family, why not purchase some editing? Jessica Bell has more info here.
And finally, head over to Facebook where I'm running a little giveaway. All you need to do is send me (talliroland@gmail.com) a photo of The Hating Game loaded onto your device (computer, phone, Kindle, etc) and I will enter you in a giveaway for books and treats! Closing date: this Friday.
Happy Monday!
Love your tree. I have a photo of ours on my blog today, too. We're in sync!
ReplyDeleteI may or may not post photos of my tree. They're already up on FB and I'm lazy. Lol! I love your huge tree!! If I had a tree that big I wouldn't be able to sit in my living room!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is eight feet tall? My cats would have a field day with that!! :)
ReplyDelete(In spite of the fact that I have -- and openly admit to having -- cats, I'm still rather manly. Just thought that should be noted for anyone who questions it. Of course, if you are making a judgement call on a guy solely on the account of the fact that he loves his freeloading felines, then should I really be that concerned? Probably not, but being consider uber-manly is really, really, really important to me and I have to defend that until my dying breath... which hopefully doesn't happen for awhile because I still have a lot of incredibly-manly things to do. Things like: lumberjacking, carjacking, jumping-jack-ing and learning how to knit sweaters for cats.)
Impressive tree, Talli. I have a baby tree, only three feet tall (that sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it?)and artificial, but I have a sentimental attachment to it. Silly, huh?
ReplyDeleteThe tree is beautiful! We went with a big tree this year. It was too tall to add the star! The last couple years we had cute Charlie Brown trees.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the goodies in this post!
Ours is just a little bit shorter - nothing like a big tree!
ReplyDeleteGreat tree. And lots of gift ideas. Your house must have a wonderful pine scent throughout! Love those holiday scents.
ReplyDeleteOh, your tree looks really merry!
ReplyDeleteLove hearing your voice over the phone, Talli! Thanks for giving me the opportunity to post an interview with you on my blog! Really enjoyed your answers :) Wouldn't it be nice if we could really have cupcakes and coffee? :)
Will check the links out! Thanks Talli! :)
Pretty tree! I miss having a big tree but I live alone and drive a Miata, so in recent years I've hunted down small trees that I can cram in the front seat with me and haul inside by myself. I'm proud to say, it works.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christmas tree, Talli! Not only is it lovely to look at, but a real 1 smells so gorgeous. Nothing like it. Good height, too!
ReplyDelete8 feet is an awesome size tree!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great links, Talli. By the way, fab baubles! I have real tree envy now x
ReplyDeleteGreat Talli! And what a beautiful tree!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christmas tree.
ReplyDeleteEight feet? That's a nice sized tree. The little ones do look comical, and I was thinking of being comical this year and having a Charlie Brown tree on my coffee table. :)
ReplyDeleteEight feet is huge! Mine is only Five foot this year - and then needles are already dropping! It's not so bad this year as my LO is 4 so she wont be crawling around in the needles or trying to pull the tree over so it should last a little longer....
ReplyDeleteYour interview with Len was very interesting! And I look forward to reading the next book when it comes out. xx
Thanks, schnookims ;o) LOL
ReplyDelete8 feet tall?! Wow, that is some tree! Thanks for all the fun links, I'm off to check them out.
ReplyDeleteLots of great links! Thanks Talli!
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks great!
Holy smokes, that is a huge Christmas tree!! :) I really enjoyed reading your interview at Len's, it was neat getting to know a little more about you through the questions Len asked.
ReplyDeleteNeat giveaway! :D Best of luck to all entrants.

It looks like a wonderful tree! And, wow, eight feet tall! :D
ReplyDeleteErm. You'll laugh and laugh and laugh at my 3 ft tree!! Laugh I tell ya!
ReplyDelete:-)
p.s. your tree is GORGEOUS!! Take care
x
My tree is less statuesque than yours, but its a far cry better than last year's Charlie Brown branch, of which I had no say. Ahhh, husbands, we love them, but we can't kill them. Tis the season. ho, ho, ho
ReplyDeleteNice tree! And hey, the bigger the tree, the more decorations you can put on it! I like decorating the Christmas tree because it brings up a lot of memories.
ReplyDeleteCool, thanks for the links, Talli.
ReplyDeleteThat tree looks lovely.

When I was a kid we'd always get ridiculously tall trees even though we didn't have high ceilings. It was always my job to hack off the bottom 6 inches off at a time and then help carry it in to see if it was now short enough to fit. Our family didn't believe in tape measures.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tree! Looks very majestic! :)
ReplyDeleteGloroius tree Talli
ReplyDeleteI put a little photo of our tree on my Christmas Tales blogfest entry along with a satsuma and a socking.I'm not on FB anymore so can't take part in your giveaway but good luck to those who win :O)
haha!! nice tree! mine is smalll, but then so are my ceilings lol :)
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your Christmas tree, Talli. Huge trees are awesome! We put ours up last weekend, and I'm still drawn to those shiny ornaments and lights. I must be part raccoon.
ReplyDeleteAwesome tree!Ours is maybe 6 1/2 feet.
ReplyDeleteThanks, all, for the wonderful tree wishes! It is glorious - one of the best we've ever had, I reckon! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved your tree and post it was good to read.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Fantastic tree!!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! That's a beautiful and big tree! All I have up this year is an ornament tree. lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great gift ideas! :)
Thanks for the links!
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks pretty. Ours is fake, so it looks the same every year!
So many things to click on! Going to check out Len's blog first...
ReplyDeletetree envy! We have a very small, fake tree. The cat won. :D
ReplyDeleteBut it's pretty at least! I'm working on the book--so far so great~ :o) <3
Beautiful tree, Talli! Mine is just a plastic, pre-lit tree! I'm a little jealous! :P
ReplyDeleteLove your tree!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the links! Can't do the FB contest - haven't signed up for it yet! :)
Fabulous tree and now I'm off to follow your links. Thanks :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tree! I do love all the holiday sparklies.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tree! We went artificial this year for the first time since we've had kids (14 years now). My son requested a pine air freshener to make it smell "real", but it's got some funky smell that's not like a Christmas tree at all.
ReplyDeleteThat's NUTS that you have to go across a sea for a tree! (well not YOU, but you know what I mean)-- I love high ceilings and big trees... wish we didn't live in a shoe box...
ReplyDeleteLast Christmas I decorated the tree while playing the soundtrack for The Omen.
ReplyDeleteThe only time we bother with a tree anymore is when we're having company for Christmas...so this year, no tree. I bought a couple of poinsettias early on, but then I overwatered them and they abruptly shed all their leaves/petals. The stalks were not very festive...
ReplyDeleteI'll buy another big poinsettia this weekend and try not to kill it before Christmas.
