Now What?

With the big week behind me now (and what a week!), what's left of my mind now needs to focus on what's next. With everything that's been going on, I haven't had much of a chance to focus on writing. But I was able to have my next title approved: a romantic comedy called Watching Willow Watts.

I'm loathe to talk about it too much right now since I know you probably have Talli fatigue (I know I do), but let's just say it involves YouTube, Marilyn Monroe and a cute English village overrun with crazed fans!

Along with Willow, there are various other projects in the works, including a royal wedding edition of 24 Hours London (gotta cash in on the Royals somehow, right?). And I'm really looking forward to my upcoming trip to Cairo for some fun in the sun and lots of clueless nodding as I attempt to look like I'm understanding my in-laws and their Arabic.

So it's busy times ahead -- just the way I like it! Now that I've come out of my book-release-induced cocoon, tell me: what are you up t0?

  1. Hi Talli. I’m a new follower. The trip to Cairo sounds fun. Is it definitely nodding you have to do? In some countries, isn’t shaking one’s head the thing to do to show you agree?

  2. Oooh, loving the sound of the next book, Talli!

I've been battling snow. Yes, snow. In Ireland. We are so unprepared.

Also doing lots of Christmas shopping - and not just for other people. . .

  3. OMG! I am soooo jealous, I hope you have fun at Cairo. :D Be sure to tell us all about it (and post pictures, hehe). :)

After this past eventful week, you definitely deserve some rest!

  5. Cairo, fun! I finished reading The Hating Game a few days ago and really enjoyed it. :)

I'm just trying to stay warm, as winter as finally decided to visit us here in the southland...

  6. If I didn't love ya so much, I'd be jealous of your trip to Cairo. It's one of my most favorite places in the whole wide world! What I really love about Egyptians is their fantastic sense of humor. Hub and I rented a garden flat in Heliopolis. The landlord and his family (wife, three girls) invited us up a lot for tea, often for meals (can taste those stuffed grape leaves, YUM!). We had the greatest time...laughed so much...just really good people. They had limited English; I had limited Arabic. Not to worry, the Egyptians don't hold your feet to the fire for mistakes (like some countries do).

Really like the title for your next book.

The young royals are very popular here. The world needs a fairytale wedding!

  7. Sounds like a great trip and great books. I hope you have fun. Don't worry, we're not Talli'ed out yet. In fact, I would love updates on how your book is doing. It will be so helpful for anyone with books coming out in the future.
    Have a great week!

  9. Great title for your next book, it's very catchy. The Royals are all over the news here, it seems we can't get enough of them, so your idea for a Royal Wedding edition seems really fitting ... Happy writing :)

  10. Hi,

WOW! It's been fun watching your joy from the sidelines, and yeah, it's tough when a book hits the public arena because you really hope it's going to give the reader as much joy as the author in real-time reading pleasure :)

Have a great trip, and STAY OUT OF THE WATER!

What is everyone doing? Moi, foolish or not, has posted up two chaps of latest completed novel. Thinking of going Indie with it.

Can't wait for more Talli fever too come!

I'm working on a proposal for a publisher, hoping Jules snarky personality comes off the right way!

  13. What's up with the plastic surgery one?

I'm not tired of you... yet. ; )

I'm home sick because I pinched a nerve loading too many bags on my poor shoulder. The muscle relaxers have been knocking me out.

    Enjoy Cairo!

  15. Talli,
I think this is a rockin' book cover & the story sounds FUN! Am really looking forward to learning more about this new book of yours.

Great idea about a Royal Wedding edition to 24 Hours London. I hope you get to visit Buckingham Palace & get some great interviews w/ people there.

And, since you asked so nicely, I'm working on a secret, undisclosed book project which I'll make visible within the next 2 weeks....

    Happy Writing :-)

  17. I love the English Royals! I wish more of the European countries had kept their monarchies. I'm looking forward to seeing William & Kate's wedding on TV next year. :)

Your next books sounds terrific. Good luck with all your projects!!!

Right now I'm planning my next novel and a short story collection, which I'd like to start writing in the new year.

  18. Well you deserve that trip, and I love the new title and the sound of the royal project! Take a moment to breathe and go for it!

  21. Thanks, everyone! I'm excited to have a new project to look forward to!

Theresa, the plastic surgery one is working away in the background... needs some serious revision!

I can't wait for Cairo - we will be there on New Year's Eve. I'm going to have to smuggle in some alcohol! :)

  22. Oh, but you still have the print version next month!
Still working on the sequel to my book.

  23. Another great title!

Cairo should be wonderful. So exotic. Maybe you'll get to go to some of the ancient sites.

  24. Ooooh Cairo!! When are you off - how exciting!!! Wow!! I can see you doing your female Lawrence of Arabia look - or is it the Turkish Delight one??? WOW!!! Either way it's lots of flowing robes, sandals and smokey eyes looking smokily!!!

I love your WWW title!!!! Yay!!!!

And hey!! Kate and Wills did say they want the whole nation to celebrate so cash away is what I say!! :-) Take care

  25. Ahhh--you're going to Cairo? So exciting. And your next book sounds awesome!

Nothing new or exciting going on with me so I won't bore you with it. But I hope you have a lovely, slightly more relaxing week! :)

  26. I'm trying not to sress about writing this month. I won't start my next huge project until January.

  27. Lucky, lucky, lucky for going to Cairo! Take pictures. :) I like to live vicariously. ;)

And, I love the new title! Great alliteration. :D

  28. Mix in some head shakes and some inquisitive looks with the nodding so it makes the nodding seem more authentic. Also when you cannot pronounce something just throw all the consonants together and cough at the same time. 5/7 that worked in Korea. Good luck on everything you're doing!

  29. I hope you have a great time during your trip to Cairo! :)

I'm up to writing (of course).

  30. You are so darn busy! I think I used to have that much energy! I'm too tired to think about it...

It's good to see that your "projects" actually get to see the light of day. Sadly, mine seem to always remain "projects."

  31. Talli, two clever ideas, the book and the Royal wedding tie-in.
Enjoy Cairo, that sounds fab, I am home in the snow here, the schools have closed so we are eating, baking and reading a lot!! Plus blogging and watching X factor - Ireland is so disgusted about Mary going out, she was such a trooper!!

  32. New book sounds brilliant - I have a heroine called Willow so I'm hugely in favour of the name!

Currently reading The Hating Game (on the new Kindle) and loving it. Reading it slowly so as not to gobble it all down in one, so hurry up with the new one...

  33. Can't wait to hear more about it!

I'm in the middle of final exams. Then my sister is coming home for the holidays so we'll be spending a lot of time together!

PS. I was going to wait until January to read your book but I started the first chapter out of curiosity and I just couldn't stop. It was brilliant. I laughed and smiled and felt very satisfied at the end. You did a fabulous job!

  53. I love how you are adding all the modern techno stuff play a role in your stories. Definitely gives them all a familiar chuckle and I don't know that I've heard of other stories doing that, so you have a fresh angle.

    ReplyDelete
  54. have fun in Cairo. I'd say it would sound exciting, but then you factor in the in-laws. (LOL) I've decided to get off the computer and make some real friends now that I'm in France. I'm arranging a small English speaking coffee with a few folks. We'll see what happens...
