Under the Sun

It's not often London gets a string of sunny days in a row, let alone a over four-day weekend! And when that rare event happens, the streets Italicare awash with people soaking it in. Today is the final Bank Holiday of Easter weekend, and low and behold, that golden orb is still shining.

So, while I'm well aware my posts recently have been a bit lacking in depth... well, one must sun oneself while one can!

We've a three-day work-week coming up this week, the Royal Wedding on Friday (another holiday) and then another holiday on Monday for the Bank Holiday. Have I made you jealous yet?

How was your weekend?

  1. You didn't make me jealous, but only because I've spent my loooooong (aka more than four days) Easter Holiday out in the sun, since even Norway has been blessed with incredibly warm weather and lots lots lots of sun. Wonderful! Summer!

I wouldn't mind experiencing the same in London, though. My only visit there was in brilliant sun, and it made me fall in love with the city. Will definitely go back sometime!

  2. Not quite jealous. Living in Malaysia we enjoy 40C temperatures every single day!

Every day is like a holiday for me over here. Jealous yet?!

  3. Yes!
Loads of sun here in Phuket but holidays well...over a week and a half ago! Nothing like a city with sun...

  4. Oh isn't it lovely! (And slightly surreal to have such nice weather for Easter bank holidays.) Today looks like another winner - I'm going to be redrafting like a mad thing, and then perhaps heading to a park to write some more! And possibly will stop at a tea shop for a cupcake... :)

  5. I am jealous Talli, not of the sun as we have plenty of them here, but of the fact that you have so much time on your hands to make hay.

I used to every year go to London in October, and you know how miserable that time of the year can be... so we were always excited whenever the sun decided to show up...

  6. I keep reading about the smog in London, but my daughter works near St. Paul's and hasn't noticed any!

Sunshine is always a nice and welcome distraction :o)

  7. Hah! Yeah, a bit jealous. Glad you're getting some well-deserved leisure time, though. I spent the weekend writing a bit and with the family!! Happy Easter and Royal Wedding. :)

  8. I'm definitely jealous. Here in the Midwest (U.S.) it's been rainy and cold. You also have the royal wedding coming up. And um...what's the "Bank" Holiday?

  9. We're having pretty nice weather in Ireland too, long may it last :)

  10. So happy to see London looking so cheerful. Our holidays are all different to yours but in Thailand we have four in May: two next week (Monday and Thursday), and two in the middle (16-17th Mon/Tues).

Aren't we all lucky? I hope your weather holds out.

  11. It's a wonder we Americans are all stressed out all the time. Not enough holidays!

But I'm glad to hear that your long weekend was full of sun! Easter Sunday in the Northeast started out nice but turned to rain later (fortunately still warm out though).

And It's back to work today. Our next holiday is not until the end of May.

  16. It's supposed to be nice and sunny today, but right now I'm looking at fog and ucky skies. You must have my sun. But you know what, you can keep it. It was supposed to be 90 today and I can't handle heat like that anymore. Unless of course I'm on the beach.

  17. Depth????? While it's the hols and the sun's out?!?!

  19. No, I'm not jealous.(right) I'm happy for you. (right) I think it's wonderful that you're enjoying the sights and sounds of London, and the gorgeous days. (right) And, I hope you somehow manage to slip into the wedding and confused with all the other guests. (right) Just don't of me or anyone else not standing next to you describing all the wonderful things happening around you. Although, you could come visit when you can find a moment free from leaning against some great London landmark... (just sayin')

  24. Talli,
I'm so happy for you! It's great that you can wear shorts & enjoy the sun! I'm really, really hoping that this weather holds out for the Royal Wedding this Friday! :)

  25. We get 320-330 days a year of sun where I live. I'm such a sun-worshipper, I'm sure I would shrivel in a misty, grey clime!

London is so beautiful, though. Lovely photograph! Is that the River Severn? (I ask in complete ignorance as I have just read about it after reading Hurts lyrics. :))

  26. Enjoy the sun and the holidays!

  27. The first detail I noticed in your picture are your shorts! Our winter boots are still the first choice in foot wear here. And a royal wedding...what an interesting time to be in London!

  35. The sun is out here in Cyprus at last. I enjoy the rain, but need the sunshine now.

We have a red sand storm due Friday, and are praying it will arrive Saturday, as we are having an expat wedding party!

My daughter took 3 days annual leave in the UK, and gained an 11 day holiday due to the BHols and wedding.

Loved seeing you relaxed and chilled. :)

  39. Beautiful weather for London. My niece just flew there today for school. I join her in June and I hope we get some sun-- but I would be disappointed if there wasn't some amount of gloom. (=

  40. I'm not jealous. Noooo. I only worked Easter Friday and Saturday. Hehe. I am off for the wedding, though, and I can't wait!

  41. Yes, you've duly made me jealous. I think it was that sun part that pushed it for me. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Some jealousy. But I get a whole lot more days of sunshine, lol! Except the last wee it's been like a week in western Ireland all misty and snatches of sunshine coming in segments measured in minutes, lol! I am looking forward to Thursday when this rain system passes us by and gives us several sunny days.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Not me. 3 day week for me too, enjoying the weather in Sunny Scotland !

    ReplyDelete
  44. I will trade you the sunshine for some rain--we are in a drought here in Texas, and my flowers aren't doing very well!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yep, I'm totally jealous! It's spring time here and that means high winds, horrible weather, and rough days at work.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm glad you're enjoying your great weather! We feel like we're drowning in rain here in Ohio!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I was wondering when the royal wedding was - now I know!

I'm jealous about the sun - it seems like a looong time since we've seen that golden orb in these parts.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well enjoy it while you can Talli. I do believe by the 'big day' the weather will be overcast again. See how we pay attention to detail over here?
