String Bridge!

Happy Monday! Can you believe the sky is blue here? Again! It's like the tropics or something. My big weekend news (if you haven't already seen it on Facebook): I saw two really cute owls sleeping in a tree in Kensington Gardens. This has made me inordinately excited -- and worried about my mental state. I really need to get out more! But they were so cute!

On to more exciting things -- Jessica Bells' trailer for her upcoming novel, String Bridge.

To help promote it, Jessica's running a fantastic (and simple!) contest. All you need to do is link to her trailer then head to her blog and leave a comment with where you've linked to! It's just that easy, folks. (I feel like I'm writing a car commercial here. )

In other exciting news, the A-Z Challenge has reached 700 people! It's going to be EPIC. Maybe even more exciting than owls!

What animal excites you? (Ahem. In the purest way possible, of course.)

  1. I'm so excited about String Bridge and love the trailer!

Sometimes we have an owl staying in one of the trees across the street from our house. I love to hear it at night.

A couple weeks ago I saw an eagle! That was a lovely sight. It was soaring above the bridge in my town.

    Have a fantastic week, Talli!

  5. I saw the cutest picture of a bat over at Al's Publish or Perish blog today. Never thought I'd say a bat is adorable, but that one was! And congrats to Jessica!

  6. Nice trailer!

I get excited by all animals but the coolest I’ve seen was a red fox in a cemetery and a pack of coyotes crossing the road.

  9. Her trailer is so beautiful. I'm impressed by her diversity of talents.

Animals that excite me? Ha. Squirrels. They're carefree, hyper, and silly, and dangit if their tails aren't flippy bottle-brushes of cuteness!

  10. Saw Jessica's trailer earlier - too cool. And now on to 1000 for the Challenge.

  11. I loved the song Jessica chose for the trailer. I didn't see any mention on the trailer of the identity of the artist singing it. Very nicely done trailer.

I love animals. Let's see...Watching my herd of horses running together across the pasture. There's just something majestic about seeing them thundering across the fields, manes and tails flying.

  12. I dunno, owls are pretty exciting.

  13. Sia, the song is original. My mother's actually, which I tweaked lyrics to fit the book and rerecorded with my own voice :o) I'm glad you like it!

  14. I watched Jessica's trailer on another blog. It's great. A writer with a beautiful voice, too. I don't know which animal I'd pick. Too many to choose from - big cats, horses, colorful birds, and more.

  17. I would love to see a unicorn. LOL! The animals that make me freak the most are white rhinos because there are only 5 (??) left right now in the entire world. Hard to think someday they will be gone.

  18. I live in grizzly bear country and every year I hear stories of these powerful creatures attacking hikers. Nevertheless I go hiking as often as I can always keeping the thought of running into one of them in the forefront of my mind. Maybe that's what makes hiking in Glacier National Forest so exhilerating for me. I haven't ever met one in person. I would love to see one...from a distance. So, for me, grizzlies are exciting animals.

  45. Giraffes are my favorite animals by far. And I just posted a link for Jessica's trailer on Twitter. Always ready to do my part to help other bloggers!

  46. Great trailer! I'll be posting my link tomorrow. Love to support fellow writers any way I can. As for animals, I think that cheetahs excite me the most. They're so fast and graceful.

    ReplyDelete
  47. LOL! I love owls, too. I'm going to check out that trailer now!

  48. It's always a special treat to see owls because they aren't your usual daytime critter and they are good at blending in. We have a pair on campus here that I glimpse occasionally but usually only hear.

I love to see foxes! I love how they sort of float over the ground, like their tails given them buoyancy.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Owls are signs of wisdom so it's helpful that you saw them.

I love all animals but seeing squirrels seems to help brighten my day!

  50. Wow...She has a great voice. If her book is as good as her trailer she should have no problems. Too bad November is so far away. I like instant gratification and would love a copy of the ebook tonight.

  52. I'm a non-discriminating animal lover, but I have to say I find cats of any species the most beautiful - kitty cats, bobcats, lynx, panthers, lions, tigers - all of them. I'm looking forward to visiting your blog during April. Excited!

  53. I'll be tame--just now, my dog's at the top of my list. He's fast asleep with all four paws in the air, and every so often the front two scrabble a little. I'm pretty sure his current dream involves reliving the digging of the giant hole that currently graces my front yard... but he's too cute!

  64. Honestly, did not appreciate birds until I hit my thirties. :) Owls are EXCITING and so are hawks. Last spring we had a Cooper's Hawk nest in the tree just off from our kitchen and we took hundreds of pictures of him diving after prey. The only other animal that fills me with wonder are large sea animals--whales, sea turtles, etc.

  65. Otters! they definitely excite me and make me smile. That could be why me and my beau call each other otters...haha i no dorky but hey it makes me smile so i figure it's ok
