There's nothing more cringe-worthy than watching yourself on video, is there? Last weekend, Mr TR bought a new video camera and, to test it out, he decided to shoot a small video. With no other victims and under great duress, I grudgingly agree. Here's the result! Hope you enjoy watching more than I enjoyed starring.
I should mention most of it is shot in Kensington Gardens, close to where we live.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few shots in there of me looking really fed up - haha!
Great Job! A charming glimpse of a much different world than mine. Your neighborhood is so much different than mine in Illinois, USA.

I really love videos where people show where they live, there's so much diversity in the world and what might be one person's boring walk to work can be another person's fascinating insight into another world!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd get beaten up if I shot a video of my neighbourhood, so here's one of my allotment instead! http://naturallylaws.blogspot.com/2009/07/allotment-update-video-now-with-added.html
Talli--better get used to being on camera!
ReplyDeleteYou're secretly working for the Tourism Board, I know it. I want a real tour!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! That kiss at the end was for me... I know it was. :D
ReplyDeleteMr TR is very fond of zoomy zooming out though, isn't he! LOL
What an amazing neighborhood, I'm ready to move! It looked very gray and cold tho, but that's okay, it's winter in London right LOL?
ReplyDeleteCool video! Your neighborhood looks pretty cool. And no snow!
ReplyDeletedon't be too hard on yourself - Though I keep getting pushed to record my poetry and allow that out in the world, I can't do it. As most people I can't stand my own voice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice way to get a glimpse at your London life, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOoooo! Simply charming my dear. So very British.
ReplyDeleteOh, no, it didn't come up on my screen. I'll come back later and see if I can view it. Things are wonky on the internet today. Cheers~
ReplyDeleteThat was a very nice armchair tour...Thank you!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! What a great neighborhood you live it... You're one lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteYou did well for a non-star...... What a fun day out...
Was that a palm tree I saw in that planter? In London... in the Winter?
Michael
I must say I've taken a fancy to your red coat, Talli! Very envious (and it looks warm) :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty! And I know exactly what you mean about hating seeing yourself on video. Actually, I don't mind seeing myself so much (assuming I'm not mid-speech, in which case I always have a weird twisty-mouth facial expression going on), but I HATE hearing my own voice on tape or video. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a professional tourist video inviting us to go to London. It's a great time of year to visit as there aren't as many tourists about! Glad to see the snow's gone!
ReplyDeleteI loved it! You are absolutely stunning and I could stand to watch a couple more if you two decide to make em. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteUrgh, I know how you feel...I can't help but flinch and quiver when I see myself on tape. It's a very odd feeling haha. But this is a great video, Talli. :) Thanks so much for sharing!

I love your red coat! It's interesting to see the person behind the posts. Thanks Talli.
ReplyDeleteYou were great, Talli. I love Kensington Gardens, meet you there sometime with my kids when we make a return visit!!
ReplyDeleteThe music was great, very moody and chic!
Oh my gosh do you live in Kensington? It is Kensington, right? That is such a nice area. Jealous! PS: You're so cute. Love the little skip at the end. hehe
ReplyDeleteOk, NOW I read you comment. It is Kensington. Man, YOU LUCKY DUCK!
ReplyDeleteAhhh--I've been to pretty much ALL those places and NOW I WANT TO GO BACK!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely btw. Love the coat! :)
This was a very nice video and you did great as a tourist guide. ;) It reminded me of a few places I visited when I was in London years ago. I think I must re-visit it soon.
ReplyDeleteYour neighborhood is so adorable! I'm ready to buy a flat and move in now! Thanks for sharing this with us it was a lot of fun and the camera loves you. ;)
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww lovely Talli!!!! You're adorable and ever so tall!!!! Yay!! What a trouper you are!!! I hope hubby bought you posh chocolate - cos it looked very windy, grey and cold!! :-)
ReplyDeleteTake care
x
That was a lot of fun. Go you.
ReplyDeleteI kept wanting to see more of your red coat.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't feel comfortable in front of the camera, it will pass after a while.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and Mr TR as a team will show us more videos about the writers' life. It was so interesting, and the neighbourhood looks amazing.
Consider me green with envy. I love your neighborhood, lucky Talli. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look great and I love that red coat. How lovely to live so close to Kensington Gardens. I love it around there.
ReplyDeleteLoved the video! It was great and you look fab! Enjoyed the tour of your neighborhood, too! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteGood job by both!
ReplyDeleteI love your neighborhood and you certainly fit right in.
I thought that was Kensington! You've made me ache for London again. You keep doing that.
ReplyDeleteLovely vid, Talli!
Jai
You're very lucky to live somewhere so full of culture. I thought the whole thing was quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great video! It was awesome to see your neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteLove the red coat.
He did a great job! And you're a charmer.
ReplyDeleteYour husband must think your best side is your backside. It's okay - you're married, so it's legal for him to think that!
That was fun! Your hubby did a nice job and the tour operator was esquisite!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your cute! You looked great and I so want to visit now. And the kiss at the end was adorable!!
ReplyDeleteOh that was fun! Was the swan place Kensington Park? I think I recognize it from being there! I liked seeing that...
ReplyDeleteAnd your accent is having a hard time deciding whether to change, yes? teehee
See, I love it! NICE JOB
ReplyDeleteI reconised Kennsington as I went there alot years ago, It brought back many memories, Thank you,
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Aw, thanks for the lovely comments everyone! I admit I was not at my best on Sunday - but obviously my red coat was! :) Thanks goodness for the coat!
ReplyDeleteI went to London this weekend and loved it. Brilliant vibe there. It was great to see the person and voice behind the blog/twitter and books. Great post!
ReplyDeleteWell edited, he did a good job! I'd like to live on your street. Also, love the Canadian geese!
ReplyDeleteHey you cutie patoootie! you look just like you and I loved the tour. Yay! I want to go to London - right now. and have fish & chips and a big ole beer. yup.
ReplyDeleteOh, love the neighborhood and the ducks. DO they ever go after the people? Oh, maybe that's just geese. Don't be shy. If I looked as fab as you, I'd film more often.
ReplyDeleteCD
Aw, you brave girl! What a lovely area to live, I think the ducks stole the show, hehe.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful neighborhood, Talli!
ReplyDeleteI loved this!!! Talli you're gorgeous I love seeing these videos! How fun! You make the best guinea pig!!
ReplyDeleteI so need to visit you! You'd be able to take me to all the awesome spots in town!
Cool vid, love the zoomy bits, and at least Mr TR only used you as a focal point to come back to you now and then and didn't follow you from behind around Kensington.
ReplyDeleteNice sign-off skip and kiss - I think you should keep that as your trademark move! And get used to being on camera - you'll be on many more films and interviews.
This was a lovely little peek at your corner of London. Mr. TR did an excellent job with the music and assorted shots and perspectives.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your coat!
What a beautiful locale! So many beautiful things!! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome video!! Your neighborhood is beyond amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, that settles it! No more vlogs for me. You put my sad little videos to shame!!
ReplyDeleteAll kidding aside. It was very cool to actually see and hear you. Well done...
-Jimmy
Great video! I like your neighborhood. I think it'd be fun to walk around in. I especially liked the part with the swans.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place! You did a great job of not looking freaked. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a cool neighborhood. Spotted a bookstore so that's always a good sign. The music made me feel it had like a 70's vibe or something. Kept waiting for kung-fu masters to jump out and attack you.
ReplyDeleteHey Talli, I was going to say how I liked your house and garden, ha ha. Don't you look spiffy!
ReplyDeleteRead your previous post and am so glad the new cover has made the difference it has! Would have been better at the beginning, but it is great you weren't left with the original if it wasn't reaching the target audience. I hope your sales continue to climb!
A new Publication Party started today with our lovely Clarissa Draper (replete with her picture!) If you can come by, it'd be great. I'm sure you'll love to read what Clarissa has to say.
Denise :)
thanks for sharing that... so lovely
ReplyDeleteThat was way fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Talli .. loved the video - fun to watch and listen to .. very different music - interesting. It was good to see some of London .. and to hear you .. good voice - but me too .. I can understand your dislike of those video things - but you both did so well and so much fun .. thanks Hilary
ReplyDeletePS - great red coat!!
You look great in red! ; )
ReplyDeleteIm going to London on the 8th and I can't wait for it now! =D
ReplyDeleteCiao Talli, All the best for 2011.
ReplyDeleteI am back at last catching up on all the posts I missed while I was away from computing while on an extended trip to the UK.
I enjoyed the video, you did look happiest in the closing frames. Catching up I love the new cover and see you had a great festive season with everything from snow in London to sun in Cairo. Take Care x
My laptop was acting up last night so I couldn't see the video, but today it decided to cooperate:) I love your neighborhood - I wish I could visit there one day! LOVE the red coat;)
ReplyDeleteO! To be in England, now that spring - er, well, anyway. You've made me very jealous [g] You look lovely, by the way!
ReplyDeleteYour neighborhood is so charming! And yay for Hyde Park! Just beautiful. Kensington Palace is my fave!
ReplyDeleteThat's my morning biking route! - the bit that says 'cyclists dismount' & the parks. Great video - I will certainly look out for you in your red coat now. We are so lucky (and what's Ottolenghi's bakery like?).
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I love it. Your neighbourhood looks lovely. Thank you Mr. TR!
