Sunlounging!

Summer seems so far away, doesn't it? But this week, I've been working on a short story for Belinda Jones' Sunlounger anthology, featuring thirty chick lit writers (including yours truly!). My story is set in Cairo, complete with sand, camels... and sun! Sigh. Although it is sunny in London at the moment with a high of 13 Celsius, so I can't really complain.

If you fancy getting your story in there, you can submit 1000-5000 words right up until 31st March. Click the photo to read the fine print...

Apart from camels, I've been busy doing more park walks, lunches, and brunches in Soho. And next week, I hope to start plotting my new novel. Yay!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Wishing everyone a great week ahead!

  1. Wow. Whoever wins the Sunlounger competition will be in great company, looking at the list of contributors!

Brunches in Soho sounds like a title for a short story! - and I want you to know that I'm living in London vicariously through your pics, so keep them coming. Used to love the parks and wandering around on weekends when I lived there

  2. A Cairo setting would be unique and how many people can write about camels? I'm ready for spring and some hot summer reading.

  6. Do your camels behave, Talli? That's the question. The Barbary Macaques in mine cause havoc for the heroine in Gibraltar!

  9. Cairo might be difficult right now--did you hear about all the locusts?

    Otherwise a great setting!

  10. Oh, I miss summer. :) Looks like a really fun read, though. Maybe it can make up for the perpetual lack of sunshine over here in the Pacific NW!

  22. Oh, a little sun and sand would be SO WELCOMING right now. Winter hit us hard today. Over half a foot of SNOW.... NOOOOO! Yup, the white powdery stuff is now a slushy mess with the ongoing traffic.

Seem like life in LONDON is quite fun with the walks, lunches, and brunches....

  27. So, if you haven't yet ordered your box of Thin Mints, it's not too late, especially with mobile apps that find near-by cookie sales.
By doing this, you are allowing yourself to get what you want as you want it.
