A Walk in the Park

Hello, all! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Lately I don't seem to be doing much writing (wonder why?), but I have been doing a lot of walking! It's a great way to get out of the flat, and Lobster Baby seems to fade away, leaving a lovely sleeping cherub.

I'm very lucky that I live smack dab between two iconic London parks, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens. While I usually head to the Gardens, today I decided to opt for the less-touristic Holland Park. It's much more manicured than Kensington Gardens, and also features a mini-woodland.

The fountain.

Manicured garden in the sun.

Statue of some dude (aren't these captions informative?).

One of the many peacocks... and a London police officer (on the left).

The Kyoto Garden.

A heron basks in the sun.

Gorgeous, eh? By the way, thank you all for sharing your worst date stories last week! I share in your pain. :)

Have a great week, everyone!

  4. I can see why he's no longer Lobster Baby after a walk there. That would make me happy, too!

  5. Beautiful! But I have to tell you any time I see peacocks I get weird. They're beautiful, true, but there was a flock that lived right up the hill from us. We had to deal with their loud yells and poop on our roof. Did I tell you I can scream like one?

  6. Lovely photos! Before you know it LB will be toddling along at your side as you walk through the park.

  7. Hi Talli .. I don't think I've ever been in Holland Park - need to make a sojourn one day ... is the Commonwealth Institute refurbished yet?

Beautiful days for being out and about - but time to stay in cuddled up later this week ... so glad all is going along happily and the brain is recovering from lobster shock!!

    Cheers Hilary

  8. Oh, how beautiful! Anyone would be less "lobster-y" walking through gardens like these!

  9. That'll be why the baby weight has fallen off you! I walked loads the first few months after the Spudling was born - it helped keep me sane. Well....awake anyway! Unfortunately it's a lot less picturesque in this part of Bristol!

  14. I can totally see why you're not writing. Usually it's atrocious weather in London in the early parts of the year but looks like you're going to have a wonderful Spring!

  30. I miss all the walking I did in the UK. It is super steep where I live so not a great neighborhood for walking. I enjoy hiking in the countryside, but would love to be able to more easily walk the neighborhood.

Babies are a sweet season so just enjoy!

  32. Aww! What a pretty park! I live next door to a park, but it's just a giant field with a pond. And a stupid baseball diamond. Good for flying kites, i guess
