The inevitable has happened: it's Monday. And yes, it might be raining, but I'm pleased to report we actually had a few days of sun while my parents were in town! Here are a few photos from our trip yesterday to Leeds Castle which, confusingly enough,
isn't in Leeds.
|
One of the many peacocks on the castle grounds. |
|
The castle's rear view. |
|
The maze from hell. I suck at mazes and got bored after about ten minutes. |
|
The castle from the front. Beautiful view! |
And apart from castle-ing, there are other exciting things going on today: Becca and Angela have a special Random Act of Kindness gift waiting for you, so hop on over to
The Bookshelf Muse to pick it up. And author Jessica Bell
has a new book of poetry out, which I very much enjoyed!
I'm playing catch-up this week and with a party on Thursday (tough life, I know) and a draft to get off to my beta readers, I'm taking the week off blogging.
See you next Monday!
Castle is very nice but where are the parents?

Getting a photo of a peacock with its feathers open is no easy task! Leeds Castle looks great, I love visiting castles, I think they're fascinating!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week off! :o) And thanks ;o)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to start Monday. Dreaming of castles and peacocks! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. I love castles. Enjoy your week off!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, Talli. Did you see the dog collar museum there? I always think that's a random display to have at a castle! x
ReplyDeleteI love castles - they inspire so many stories! Glad your parents had a good trip :) Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteI might end up getting bored with the maze too but at first it might be fun! Great pictures. We had a beautiful weekend but back to rain!
ReplyDeleteYay! for the sun! We're in the same boat. It's been raining for what seems like forever, but caught a break for Mother's Day weekend. ;D
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time with your parents! I've been to Leeds Castle and it's quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures! Glad you and your parents had a good time.
ReplyDeleteFunny about the maze. I do hate getting stuck in those things. It reminds me of The Shining.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely trip!
Ahh, yes! Jessica's poetry book is DIVINE! And aren't peacocks fascinating? I took a picture of one once, and the eyes just shone. Incredible. Have a great Monday! :o) <3
ReplyDeleteA maze. A maze!
ReplyDeleteI suck at mazes, too! Beautiful pictures. I'm in the mood for some castle-exploring... maybe it's time for a trip in the near future :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing you on Thursday!!
ReplyDeleteI've bought both of those books today. Can't wait to read them. Also, great pics.

ReplyDeleteLeeds castle is really beautiful - a proper castle! Glad your m & p had good weather. Maybe catch up on Thursday?
ReplyDeleteLove Gilli x
Yay, peacocks are my favorites! We discovered Leeds Castle isn't in Leeds when we tried to find it while passing through on vacation once. We didn't get to see the castle but we did entertain some of the people there. Good times.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! That castle is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful spot, Talli!
ReplyDeleteAnd mazes are good things!
Thank you for the connect, Talli, great to see you there.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week, Talli!
ReplyDeleteI always imagine murders or trysts when I'm in a maze. Let me out! Well, not if the tryst is interesting.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures.
What a gorgeous castle, Talli. I get bored with mazes too, lol. Have a nice week off!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous castle, Talli! I always get bored with mazes too, lol.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week, Talli. A couple of days ago I went to hear Kathy Lette and she was very funny. One day you will be packing out festival venues too.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a real castle! These pics are gorgeous. And wow, I would think a real maze would be much harder than one on paper. I'd get lost for sure!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful time with your parents! Beautiful castle! Julie
ReplyDeleteLove the peacock photo! Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteI believe you can stay in Leeds Castle, did you notice whether it was possible? looks like a place for a special occasion, if so. Enjoy your week off!
ReplyDeleteThat peacock was certainly putting his tailfeathers on display. Love the photos :-) And much luck to making progress with your writing!!
ReplyDeleteThe castle is lovely, but I can't help thinking that it must have been very damp living amongst all those stones before modern heating and cooling.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! :) Enjoy your blog vacation!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the sun shone for you and your parents. Love those pics! :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Talli! I'm glad you had a good time with your parents. :)
ReplyDeleteI adore castles and fear peacocks, and I just stopped by to say congrats on being blitzed today! (and more than once if I'm not mistaken) You sound like an awesome person. :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a fab day - nice photos too (love the peacock! :D). I've tried the maze at Longleat - lets just say mazes aren't my strong point either!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful castle, Talli - glad you had such a great time with your parents!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos - love the peacock. I'd have got bored with the maze too and probably tried (and failed) to climb over the hedges after getting lost!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Look at the lovely, amazing peacock! I would've sat there all day in awe!!
ReplyDeleteSo much high culture and history right outside your door. I'm amazed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place. Have a great week and good luck with the betaing!
ReplyDeleteLx
Gah! Have a mentioned how jealous I am of where you live? I'm freaking jealous.

(my creative writing blog)
It is a beautiful place to go. Look forward to seeing you on Thursday, and maybe Saturday too?
ReplyDeleteThe photos are lovely. Thanks for sharing them! Hope you have a productive week.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be cool to live in a castle? I've also fantasized about having one of those big gardens like that, and maybe even a secret garden like in that book. :) I think it'd be cool to go to the roof of the castle and write up there, so that I could look down on everything while writing.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Talli. Thanks for taking us on the tour to Leeds Castle, would love to visit in person one day.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week off! Thanks for sharing those lovely pictures. I'd love to visit there some day.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, the Leeds castle not being in Leeds thing. I have a disaster story from primary school based on that very fact! Glad you enjoyed and had fun with the fam!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! Have fun at the party :)
ReplyDeleteI just realized that I must have a pet peacock. Have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteThe key to making mazes fun is to race someone to the end. Whoever gets out first, wins. The competition zazzes up the fun quotient
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderous. I like the idea of Mazes. Have you read Larry's Party by Carol Shields? Thanks for the prizes heads up.
ReplyDeleteI'm back working on my WIP. Whoohoo!
Glad knowing you're have time with your family. Loved the photos. LOL about the maze. I feel like that about the maze. Great Peacock shot and always nice to see a castle from old England.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time out.
Thanks for the birthday card you sent me.
I don't think we did the maze here but I love the peacock! Enjoy your blog break...hope its productive : )
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are always talking about taking the kids to Leeds Castle but never get round to it-looks wonderful-we must go soon! Glad the weather improved for your parents.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. I love the maze. And the peacock.
ReplyDeleteRiya
Beautiful pics! Glad you're having a great time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous peacock. Wow.
ReplyDeleteI'll never forget when I visited my friend in England once and she took me to a park that was full of geese (I think they were geese).
Anyway suddenly I saw this abnormally large goose, it came like up to my waist! It headed straight for me and chased me over a little bridge. Lol. My friend was on a park bench and dying laughing. Just a little anecdote. Wonder if it was indeed a goose... It was hyuge!
Wanted to let you know I gave you a shout on on my blog today! :)
ReplyDeletePeacocks are amazing creatures. We were at the San Diego zoo last week and same some in trees. I don;t know how they got up there. I think they used the peacock sound for the bird in Disney's movie UP.
ReplyDeletehave a great break! It's always good to take a rest - then you can come back raring to go!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Talli! What is it about castles and peacocks? I took photos of the strutting peacocks at Warwick castle :-)
ReplyDeleteLove castles and prowl around them when I get across the pond. Have a good week of writing. Make sure that peacock doesn't come after you. If I remember correctly, they can be very aggressive.
ReplyDeleteTalli, I so appreciate you visiting my newest blog endeavor. :) It's my hope when I finish my upper MG-YA paranormal stories, that the blog will be a place for my readers to comment and ask questions.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot to mention, feel free to keep checking back. :)))
DeleteWonderful photos! They're gorgeous! I wish I could go there! I hope I do, someday :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day, and thanks for sharing!
Great photos - thanks for sharing! And I hope your blog break was productive!
ReplyDeleteWell tonight I shall be flying over that huge pond and will land at Gatwick. Perhaps I'll check out a castle in the kent region?
ReplyDeleteA week is up so??
What a fantastic looking place. Living history! There is a peacock running around where we are camped right now. He's yet to show us a display though...
