Happy Monday, everyone! I'm back from my self-imposed blog exile, and while I still have a few rounds of edits left to go, I'm coming into the light. Finally.
The highlight of last week -- without a doubt -- was the Romantic Novelists' Association summer party. Seeing as how I don't get out much, wearing skyscraper shoes and donning a lobster costume (I jest - I went with the summery floaty dress) always ranks high in my books. Here are some photos (stolen from various sources. Hope they don't mind!).

Carole Matthews' wonderful book handbag! LOVE. |

Jane Lovering wins Romantic Novel of the Year. |
|
Catherine Miller, me (sans lobster costume), DJ Kirkby, Rhoda Baxter. |
|
The Royal Overseas League where the party was held, tucked away behind The Ritz. |
|
Shoe wars! Jane Lovering's black sandals versus my orange ones. |
So, that's what I've been up to -- well, the interesting bit, anyway. Happy Monday!
I always love it when you blog about shoes. Looks like you had fun! :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow!! You look gorgeous in your summery floaty dress and orange shoes!!! Wow!!

ReplyDeleteI'm LOVING the shoes. I always feel the right height when I put the skyscraper heels on. Glad you had a blast!
ReplyDeleteYou look really tall!- Beautiful and elegant too, of course, but now I'm wondering how tall you are really outside of my electronic box. LOL Glad you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteSounds as though a good time was had by all:-)

ReplyDeleteWow - great pictures!!! Looks like you had a fabulous time - despite not going with the lobster costume... :)
ReplyDeleteI would have PAID to see the lobster costume! Maybe at Conference...?

ReplyDeleteWhat a blast, Talli. I vote your shoes, for sure. Love them!!!

ReplyDeleteI loved going shopping with you.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to be back.
Yvonne.
Romance is still alive.
ReplyDeleteLooks like good times! Men don't have shoe wars. That would be kinda weird. And a Happy Monday to you too!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty dress!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday, Talli! And love the shoes, although I could see myself wearing the black ones instead of your nice orange ones. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look like you had a fantastic time! And I love the shoe war pic. I like your orange shoes best but maybe that's just because I do love colour.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad to hear that you're doing well with the editing!
Jai
That looks like so much fun! Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteNow if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go finish Miracle at the Museum of Broken Hearts. :)
What a hoot! And gorgeous shoes. I couldn't walk in them if I tried so I'm deeply envious that you can wear those amazing shoes. Yay for you, and thanks for sharing the photos.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks fabulous. Especially your orange shoes.
ReplyDeleteLove the dress and orange shoes wins!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress and the shoes!
ReplyDeleteTalli, I love your dress!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress! And what a fun venue! Looks like a fabulous night. :)
ReplyDeleteOrange shoes have it as far as I'm concerned.
ReplyDeleteI'm back from my self-imposed blog break as well (dang A to Z), but I seemed to have my party shoes behind! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Talli. This looks like a great way to celebrate a break from editing/blogging.
ReplyDeleteDenise
Way cute shoes--you're way braver than I am, though, wearing heels that high; I usually shuffle around in my slippers at home, so I'm not used to heels. ;o) Love the dress! and it sounds/looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteCute photos, and I wish that I could wear those fun orange shoes! Julie
ReplyDeleteOooh. I love your dress.
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous Talli - and fab shoes :)
ReplyDeleteLx
Those are very cool orange shoes.
ReplyDeleteYou look pretty damn fab, Talli! Looks like you had a great day. Nice to see DJ Kirkby as well - I've followed her blog for a number of years now.

Love your dress and shoes. And that purse!
ReplyDeleteSo, so fabulous :) And I am so so jealous. Still :)

Great photographs of you all! But I would've loved to see you standing there nonchalantly in a lobster costume, glass of wine in hand, like it's the most normal thing in the world. Heehee. :)
ReplyDeleteI especially like that purse! It's cute! I really envy that you get to meet all those interesting writers. Usually, when I'm around other writers (in person), I'm too shy to admit that I write fiction too.
ReplyDeleteAww! I love your dress AND your shoes!
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing these photos Talli. It was such a great night!
ReplyDeleteHi Talli,
ReplyDeleteI loved looking at these photos. I saw it elsewhere and it was not named so it was great that you put a name to all the faces!
And your shoes and dress are beautiful!
Nas
Hi Talli, just to let you know that I added this post to StumbleUpon for you. Someone did this for my corned beef post and its page views just shot up exponentially. I hope that works for you too.
ReplyDeleteIf it does, and you want to, you could like one of my posts that you liked in StumbleUpon too – but you do have to register with them (it's free) and then download their toolbar – probably too much hassle.
Thanks for following Carole's Chatter
Sounds like a lovely time was had by all!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! You looked lovely in your dress. And what a gorgeous building, too!
ReplyDeleteAww, what lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteFab photos. I love Carole Matthews' handbag!
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone had a great time! You look fab. Those orange sandals are quite the fashion statement! Bet you were glad to get out of them at the end of the night.
